Strange Ass Old Films

Strange Ass Old Films

It's October. Yes, I just stated the fucking obvious but I did it for a reason. I usually always think that it's still the previous month for a couple of days into a new month because I have a terrible grasp of the concept that some months have thirty and others have thirty one days. Fucking conspiracy, I tell you.

But I also remind you that it's October now because that means it's the start of all that scary stuff that happens this month. Lots of events are centered around attempting to make you piss your pants. Something about fall that people love to try to scare you. What with the sun setting a lot earlier causing it to get darker soon. That and that whole Halloween stuff at the end of the month. If you haven't seen costumes at the store, you're not going out to support capitalism enough.

But most of all, this is the best time to catch those scary movies. They get released in full force this month. But before you go out and catch the latest crappiest attempt to get you scared, how about you look to the real horror of the past. The stuff that wasn't meant to be scary, but you can't deny that it'll freak you the fuck out. Stuff like this:

The Thing With Two Heads... even scarier for the white guy is that he has a black person's head on his shoulders. He's gonna get robbed every second of every day. Daaaaamn, did I go there? You know I'm kidding. But to be honest, this was one scary film. More so because I wondered how it actually got produced. The standards of the past must have been pretty relaxed.

But hey, in every cloud there is a silver lining. This movie created Michael Viner's Incredible Bongo Band as a project for the soundtrack, which generated some blindingly awesome instrumental rock in the '70s. That in itself should scary you just as much.

As for the film, despite the poster being pretty far out, the film is actually pretty fucking boring. And really, that's all I have to say about the matter. Such potential squandered on a film premise.

Douche Bag of The Month Award

Douche Bag of The Month Award

The month just started and while I know I'll run across a lot of douche bag frat boys later this month during Halloween, I'm just going to award the winner of the douchebag of the month status to this guy...

Petra Diamonds CEO Johan Dippenaar holds a 507.55 carat white diamond recovered at the Cullinan Diamond Mine in South Africa.
They sure did a wonderful job photoshopping out the blood out.

I can just imagine what he's thinking right now. Something along these lines;
"Thanks you blacks for finding me this 19 million dollar rock. Maybe I'll feed you twice today... lol just kidding"
It would be pretty sweet if someone killed that fellow. Or at the very least chop off his hands. The whole diamond industry pisses me off to no end. It's also pretty ironic that the general idea is that women want a big fancy rock when they get hitched. I guess it's like the ol' saying goes, you don't ask how sausage is made, right?

Because if you just scrubbed the surface, like the poor black kids do with their bloody fingers, you would realize that it's a dirty job that causes a lot of death and pain and misery for little to no pay or compensation.

Just look at that diamond around your finger, you married folks, and realize how much suffering that symbol of your marriage has caused. For all your recycling and carbon emission preventing you go about doing, you don't care a bit.. not a single bit about the suffering of humanity. And heaven forbid you have to pay extra for clothing to avoid having it in a sweat shop.

In short, this may be the biggest douche bag of the month (and I didn't even write about those assholes in Maine who want to take away Gay marriage rights yet) but in reality, those who live blindly not knowing how the sausage is made on the every day things they enjoy are just as big douche bags.. only with a lot less millions in your pockets.

Happy October, folks....
