Wait 40 Years And The Terrorist Give Up

After 40 Years, We Throw Up The White Flag

Now I don't expect the terrorist to win all the time, but then again, one man's terrorist is another man's freedom fighter. So in that sense I have news to report that my DNA background, after 40 years of fighting, The ETA has decided to wave the white flag
Basque separatist group Eta 'declares ceasefire'

It is not clear whether the ceasefire is permanent or temporary. Armed Basque separatist group Eta says it will not "carry out armed actions" in its campaign for independence.

In a video obtained exclusively by the BBC, the group said it took the decision several months ago "to put in motion a democratic process".

The Basque interior minister called the statement "insufficient". Madrid has previously insisted that Eta renounce violence and disarm before any talks.

Eta's violent campaign has led to more than 820 deaths over the past 40 years.

It has called two ceasefires in the past, but abandoned them both.

This latest announcement comes after the arrests of numerous Eta leaders and during an unprecedented period of debate within the Basque nationalist community over the future direction of policy, says the BBC's Clive Myrie in San Sebastian.

Eta has been coming under increasing pressure to lay down its weapons, our correspondent adds.

Under pressure

It is unclear whether Eta is declaring a permanent or temporary ceasefire.

In the video obtained by the BBC, three hooded Eta fighters are shown sitting behind a desk with the Eta flag pinned up behind them.

The figure in the middle reads out a prepared statement defending Eta's campaign of violence, but towards the end she says the group now wants to achieve its aims by peaceful, democratic means.

"Eta confirms its commitment to finding a democratic solution to the conflict," the statement says.

"In its commitment to a democratic process to decide freely and democratically our future, through dialogue and negotiations, Eta is prepared today as yesterday to agree to the minimum democratic conditions necessary to put in motion a democratic process, if the Spanish government is willing," it says

It adds that Eta "took the decision several months ago not to carry out armed actions".

The statement ends: "We call on all Basque citizens to continue in the struggle, each in their own field, with whatever degree of commitment they have, so that we can all cast down the wall of denial and make irreversible moves forward on the road to freedom."

Eta announces that it took the decision several months ago not to carry out armed actions.

Nationalist politicians in the Basque country welcomed the announcement and called on the Spanish government and the international community to respond positively.

The pro-Eta party Batasuna, which has been banned since 2003 on the grounds that it is Eta's political wing, is one of two Basque nationalist parties to have called on Eta to declare "an internationally verifiable ceasefire" days earlier.

Cautious reaction

But Rodolfo Ares, the interior minister for the Basque region, called Eta's statement inadequate.

"Any declaration that talks about the suspension of terrorist attacks - even if it is only temporary - should be considered as good news," he said.
Map of Spain showing Basque region

But he called Eta's declaration "ambiguous" and "absolutely insufficient", because it did not "take into account what the vast majority of Basque society demands and requires from Eta, which is that it definitively abandon terrorist activity".

The Spanish government, which has been studying Eta's statement but is yet to make an official response, has said in the past that it will only negotiate with Eta if it renounces violence and disarms.

The deputy editor of the Basque language newspaper, Gara, which follows the activities of Eta closely, said the Basque people had been hoping for this declaration.

"I think that it's a big step and a positive step," Njaki Soto told the BBC. "I think that's it's something that the majority of the Basque society was waiting [for] or expecting and in that sense I think that it's something that no-one can say that it's negative."

"It will be a long way but it's something that can bring the peace and the justice to the Basque country," he said.

Barbara Duhrkop, a former Socialist MEP whose husband Enrique Casas was murdered by Eta in 1984, said the statement was a positive step but did not go far enough.

"It's still insufficient because they talk about ceasefire, democratic process, but there's nothing about laying down arms and permanence. So I would be very careful, very cautious to evaluate how much worth there is in this announcement," she said.

Founded in 1959, Eta has since then waged a bloody campaign for independence for the seven regions in northern Spain and south-west France that Basque separatists claim as their own.

Controversial peace talks in 2006 collapsed after an Eta bomb killed two people at Madrid airport.
How can you look at these fine gentlemen and think them anything more than liberators?

This is sort of a big news piece. I really don't expect them to keep to this promise much. Especially considering how many attacks of their have been stopped in progress just in the past couple years alone.

And.. it doesn't look like the government is taking it seriously either. Oh, you can't read that? Let me translate it for you.
One day following terrorist group ETA's announcement of a ceasefire, the Minister of Public Works and Vice-Secretary General of the PSOE José Blanco have spoken on behalf of the government. "There's nothing good about this message," he stated in an interview with Onda Cero.

"We have to completely dismantle this terrorist group," stated the minister, who has been the first member of the government to speak publically about ETA's anouncement, "the terrorist group ETA is greatly weakened and is looking for an opportunity. But there are no opportunities except for them to definitively abandon arms and violence; it's a lost opportunity." The minister has praised the joint work "being done across party lines" in order to combat ETA's terrorism. "This you can know for certain. These are very solid agreements, that get good results."

ETA stated in their address that they decided months ago "not to commit armed offensive actions," without specifying whether their stated ceasefire is permanent or temporary and without making reference to calls from the left abertzale [t: radical basque separatists] to adopt a permanent and verifiable international truce.

its no good to make the organization a nonviolent political force, must obliterate

Let's play devil's advocate though. The PSOE at least was willing to hold peace talks with ETA, but nope, that wasn't good enough for them back then. So yeah, it's pretty easy to see why they don't want any negotiations and don't have any reason to believe them.

I say whatever to them. You see, the ETA did a lot of good things. Yes, their actions can be considered terrorist by nature, but it's all for a good cause.

One of the, if not the greatest hits in terms of political assassinations has to be the ETA killing Franco's successor, Luis Carrero Blanco, in what can be considered a spectacular manner. If you don't believe me, than take a look at the following diagram

Yes, that's a diagram of a car being flung over a building by an explosive blast.
“The execution in itself had an order and some clear objectives. From the beginning of 1951 Carrero Blanco practically occupied the government headquarters in the regime. Carrero Blanco symbolized better than anyone else the figure of “pure Francoism” and without totally linking himself to any of the Francoist tendencies, he covertly attempted to push Opus Dei into power. A man without scruples conscientiously mounted his own State within the State: he created a network of informers within the Ministries, in the Army, in the Falange, and also in Opus Dei. His police managed to put themselves into all the Francoist apparatus. Thus he made himself the key element of the system and a fundamental piece of the oligarchy’s political game. On the other hand, he came to be irreplaceable for his experience and capacity to maneuver and because nobody managed as he did to maintain the internal equilibrium of Francoism”.

Julen Agirre, Operation Ogro: The Execution of Admiral Luis Carrero Blanco

As you could see, the ETA used to be pretty hardcore during the early days of the civil war. Now a days they haven't done much. While it may be a matter of supporting a terrorist organization, they did kind of ensure Spain's democracy because Franco's plan was to have the true believer Blanco as his successor. Then when Blanco got killed, the only one left was the heir to the throne who Franco had known and taught since he was a kid. Juan Carlos had Franco convinced he'd continue Franco's vision of Spain. Then Franco died and the king took power and called a constitutional convention transitioning to socialist democracy.

You see this man? He's a good king.

Then you add in that his son, the Prince who will probably take power soon, is a straight up communist.

I guess the solution to this is Basques invade Andorra and kill everyone there to establish their homeland. Of course there's the comical approach and wonder why the lizard bounty hunter guy from star wars hates Spain so much.

But then again, they're just going to pussy out once again. The problem with ETA is they're following the IRA's lead that certainly worked well for Irish independence, didn't it? Oh wait.. no, it didn't. Not like this is going to last anyway. It never does.

While You Enjoy A Day of Rest China Builds....

While You Enjoy A Day of Rest China Builds....

Here's some food for thought. While you sip on your brewskie and cook up a delicious BBQ meal and get fat off the land like a true American, your neighbors to the east have been hard at work surpassing our progress.

Yes, while America was building strip-malls, invading the middle east and creating track homes that no one could now afford to own, China did a lot. Take a look at this before and after picture that would make a fitness gimmick drop not only their jaw, but 10 pounds in the process.

1990

2010

As you can see, China is the wave of the future and America will bitch and moan about it. Regardless of the fact that the city is sinking like a meter per year because of all the heavy buildings. There's progress there. A fun fact for you, half of the world's construction cranes are in Shanghai.

The funniest thing about all this is that most major Chinese metro centers are about five hundred years old, if not thousands of years old. Where as the average age of an American city is about 150 years.

The point of that is that in China, when shit needs to be improved or public utility put in, it just kind of gets done. In the US you get half a dozen organizations who bitch and moan that some 70 year old building will be destroyed and they kill the project. It's all sorts of egotistical to stop progress over the sake of such a small history compared to other locations in the world. In China it's just a matter of "we want a subway station here and these 300 year old buildings have zero significance at all"

The whole train structure alone is amazing compared to us. America has a very pitiful rail system. with the exception of Chicago I suppose. But then again, I've only heard about it. I have yet to go see it for myself.

I sometimes read urban development sites on line, just to see what the trend of structures and city life could be progressing towards and it never surprises me the amount of whining that happens when people talk about their rail infrastructure and how it feels like it's sorely ignored. But really, can you blame them? Look at China's.

The Shanghai Metro is the urban rapid transit system of China's largest city, Shanghai. The system incorporates both subway and light railway lines. It opened in 1995, making Shanghai the third city in Mainland China, after Beijing and Tianjin, to have a subway. Since then, the Shanghai Metro has become one of the newest and fastest-growing rapid transit systems in the world. Today, there are twelve metro lines (excluding the Shanghai Maglev Train), 268 stations and over 420 km of tracks in operations, making it the longest network in the world. Daily ridership averaged 3.56 million in 2009 and set a record of 6.46 million on July 6, 2010
And check out where they're projected to be by 2020

Though I do wonder if that's totally going to happen when all the money they've been investing in the US goes to shit and we can't pay them back. Not that we could right now anyway.

If you think about it, China could be building car free cities with amazing public transportation infrastructure, but instead they are building roads and making cars because they want to be like America. Ha, that's pretty sad when you think about it.

China already has the second longest limited access freeway system and to think that in 1987 they didn't have a single kilometer of expressway. So you can see where I'm coming from when I say they were a bit behind the urban economic development curve, but they're catching up fast.

In looking at that map again, it does look like China is the world's Texas. China: The World's Texas

I wonder what an imported Budweiser cost in yuan. Probably around five bucks.. and I sort of doubt it's imported. I mean, Annheuser-busch owns a third of Tsingtao.

I would like to go there some time. I hear Shanghai's airport is amazing. It's on an island and you take this bridge into the city and you can't see anything due to the fog being so thick. But when you get to about a half a mile away, a city pops out of nowhere that stretches to both ends of the horizon in front of you. It sounds wicked.

You probably wonder why I'm hung up on China right now. It's not the nominal adherence to communism. I think it's clearly one of the places the future is going to happen in. You've seen Blade Runner. There's a lot of truth in that SciFi film alone in how the world is going.

Not to mention that it seems like China actually follows through with public works projects rather than talk about them for 20 years. How long has the "freedom tower" been worked on and it still looks like it's only been a month.

I assume that in the 10's we'll see a lot of cool media where it's assumed that China will control the west financially in the near future, like how in the 80's we assumed Japan was on its way to owning the world before they settled with just making technology a few years into the future for the world.

China's also shooting ahead of the US. While we question evolution and global climate change, they just don't give a fuck about letting the religious dark ages hold them back. Though I suppose as the environmentalist that I am, I really shouldn't be praising China for their building. I mean, let's not even look at their environmental record.

I had a friend come back from a couple week stay there who kept coughing three weeks later because of the smog, and she's not even a smoker. If anything, China is the prime driver of climate change for most of the 21st century and it's not looking like they give a fuck. Then again, industrialization isn't pretty and during our own industrial revolution we did massive amounts of polluting ourselves on an epic scale. Only caring about the environment is more of a new thing.

The only thing really holding China back now in this role as America of the 21st century is that the US didn't have to deal with a massive population, a shortage of resources, mass desertification and livability issues like China is currently dealing with.

Don't get me wrong, this is a case of the grass is always greener. China does have plenty of issues. Instead of suburb sprawl and a lack of rail investment, they have major groundwater pollution and massive overcrowding. Not to mention that whole destruction of 400+ year old neighborhoods.

Hey, maybe 20 years from now it will all change. Maybe then Chinese strip-malls will be booming.

Camping With WiFi

Camping With WiFi

We're about a few weeks away from the official "END OF SUMMER", did you do everything that your summer time quota has allowed you to? Most of all, have you've done that one thing you should do every summer.. that is, go on a camping trip.

Yes, there's nothing better than the great outdoors. The smell of nature in the air, dirt below your feet - a brisk camp fire going to keep you warm while under the great big sky... oh yeah, and that WiFi signal giving your iPhone some internet capacity..

More and more Americans are taking their work and electronic play with them on vacation this summer. And now it's getting even easier to stay connected in some of the most far-flung areas, like the woods. The popularity of wi-fi access in campgrounds is exploding.

Kathy Palmeri, who owns Jellystone Campground near Estes Park, Colo., says getting reliable wi-fi to the area posed some logistical challenges. The campground is perched on a rocky mountainside covered in trees. But she says the investment is worth it. Why? Because her customers expect it.

"Now it's just like having a water line or a telephone or any other basic amenity. You basically need it to do business," Palmeri says
Wait, what? WiFi signal while camping? Yup, that's right. Some camps have WiFi now. Okay, I misspoke, A lot of camp grounds have WiFi now.. Jesus fuck! That's over 50 camp sites that have wifi capabilities. Why I remember when we had to really rough it and we just had a 14,000kb dial modem when we were camping!

And while I realize this news comes a bit late being that it's the last weekend that people consider summer activity worthy, I think it's worth noting since I am in Southern California and we can go camping year round.

I really have to ask why you would need a wireless signal while camping. You're out there to get away from it all. To leave technology and get in touch with your natural and inner self. To rough it. You're sure as fuck not roughing it when you want to download that bittorrent 50 miles away from civilization.

Many of these places can't get a phone signal, but you can make a call on skype. I'm not sure what that really says about our society. Though I guess it does point in the direction that we're more focused on providing an internet super highway at all time.

The story goes on to tell the tale of a family who was getting bored of being outdoors and so they sat down and watched Big Brother streaming on the internet. That is something that I find both annoying, sad and very very pathetic. It makes me weep for the future of humanity.

It was bad enough when the folks camping near to me would blast their radio while out in nature, but to have someone constantly on their smart phone on the internet or skyping would just push me over the edge.

When you're outdoors, rough it. How hard is it to rough it? We've crossed the line into allowing camping to include RV's and other vehicle homes. That's not camping, that's just acting like you're homeless in Venice.

A Second Oil Rig Has Burned In The Gulf

A Second Oil Rig Has Burned In The Gulf

Oh man, how terrible. I'm referring to my joke there. How insensitive can I be. 9/11 is just a couple of days away (See, I didn't forget! NEVER!) and I make a reference to the classic "a second plane has hit the building"

But sure enough, a second oil rig caught on fire late last week. I know, you were on your labor day weekend vacation. No worries. You have me to fill you in on the stuff you don't care about because it's not leaking oil.... or is it?
GRAND ISLE, La.—An offshore oil rig has exploded in the Gulf of Mexico, west of the site of the April blast that caused the massive oil spill.

Coast Guard Petty Officer Casey Ranel says the blast was reported by a commercial helicopter company about 9:30 a.m. CDT Thursday. Seven helicopters, two airplanes and four boats are en route to the site, about 80 miles south of Vermilion Bay along the central Louisiana coast.

Ranel says it hasn't been determined whether the structure is a production platform or a drilling rig or whether workers were aboard. Ranel says smoke was reported but it is unclear whether the rig is still burning.

yes. Yes! I guess the worse news about all this is that we're going to have to see the ugly faces of oil CEO exec's. God damn, they're some of the most ugliest mother fuckers around. Forget the greasy turtles and birds, watching one more of the oil CEO's on TV is by far the most offensive thing about all the spills/fires/DPK sub attack. Just look at this fucker!

It's like the excess of wealth is just sitting in his hanging chin. I mean, I know you can't trust the banks, but you don't have to hide your gold doubloon in there. So I guess the question now is if it's going to flood the water with some black ooze like the last one did....
UPDATE 12:24 EST: MSNBC and USA Today are reporting that the Coast Guard has clarified that the explosion occurred at an oil platform and is not an oil drilling rig. The platform, however, is still on fire.
Hear that? Nothing to see, folks. Says U.S coast guard, wholly owned subsidiary of British Petroleum. But then again, this update came out sometime on Friday..
NEW ORLEANS, La. (AP) -- The Coast Guard is saying that a mile-long oil sheen is spreading from the site off an offshore petroleum platform that exploded in the Gulf of Mexico off Louisiana.
But now they're saying there isn't any... and I just have to ask why does this all sound familiar? It's as if we should be doing the time warp again!

If you wonder if this will have any significant amount of oil pouring out of it, I doubt it. It's sort of like when you're changing your own oil, and a cop drives by while you're pouring a few quarts down a storm drain. It's just a few hundred dollar fine and wipe your hands on the matter.

Look at this dude. It's like everyone in Houston

Besides that, Deep Water Horizon was only 50 miles offshore. This one is a hundred. So if it does spill any oil, they could probably just lie about it, dump some dispersant on it at night and hope it magically goes away before any news choppers ever show up.

All we need now is someone to cue up an interview with someone with a southern drawl saying, "Yes, it's unsafe but we still must drill forever, until the end of time. Nothing will ever stop me from drilling into this earth on unsafe rigs. Nothing!"

I once read a short story where they drilled for oil with this new drill and it starts leaking blood from the ground and wont stop. Makes you wonder... But then again, I'm not some tree hugging hippie (well, not that much of a tree hugger), so that's just a bit much.

Two oil rigs down, however many more to go! Speaking of which, how many are their out there?

This map is pretty telling and interesting. You'd think they would build these things to last considering they have to withstand at least a couple hurricanes a year. Maybe even withstand an attack by North Korea...

Wait, what? Yeah. There are people that believe that the DWH oil spill was caused by an attack by a DPK sub attack. Here is the full conspiracy http://www.politisink.com/2010/06/d...ros-bp-shuffle/ I don't have just the conspiracy alone or I would have copy and pasted that, but it sure is funny to think that people actually believe this.

That country that we typically degrade as being crazy and backward has suddenly developed the ability to create a submarine so stealthy it can operate in US territorial waters without being detected. Didn't you know?

So with that, North Korea's secret submarine has sure been busy. Considering we didn't capture it after the BP oil spill, we can't really be surprised by this newest oil rig fire. It's a better twist than when they throw some empty suit under the bus instead of providing meaningful investigations and regulations.

I am waiting for when they start to blame the environmentalist themselves. It wont surprise me at all when there's some revised statement and the Mariner Energy spokesman ends up telling CNN that in addition to the 13 workers who survived the blast this time, there was another who did not make it off the platform. A 14th worker, an EPA inspector, who ends up being the source of the explosion.

You remember that movie Water World? Yeah, I'm guessing we're heading towards that future only instead of water, we're all going to be living on oil. In short - Death is certain.

Teaparty Guide To Washington

The Tea Party Goes To Washington

We already knew that the Tea Party suffered massive cases of Xenophobia. So it comes as no surprise when you come across some Tea Party blog that wrote a "Travel Guide" for Washington DC"
Safety and Mores

DC's population includes refugees from every country, as the families of embassy staffs of third world countries tend to stay in DC whenever a revolution in their homeland means that anyone in their family would be in danger if they went back. Most taxi drivers and many waiters/waitresses (especially in local coffee shops like the Bread and Chocolate chain) are immigrants, frequently from east Africa or Arab countries. As a rule, African immigrants do not like for you to assume they are African Americans and especially do not like for you to guess they are from a neighboring country (e.g. Eritrea, Ethiopia, Somalia) with whom they may have political or military tensions. It's rare to meet anyone who gets really offended, but you can still be aware of the issue.

Many parts of DC are safe beyond the areas I will list here, but why chance it if you don't know where you are?

If you are on the subway stay on the Red line between Union Station and Shady Grove, Maryland. If you are on the Blue or Orange line do not go past Eastern Market (Capitol Hill) toward the Potomac Avenue stop and beyond; stay in NW DC and points in Virginia. Do not use the Green line or the Yellow line. These rules are even more important at night. There is of course nothing wrong with many other areas; but you don't know where you are, so you should not explore them.

Here are the parts of DC Tea Partiers think to be unsafe and a highlighted zone that you should avoid.

I have to admit, it's a little less racist than I expected it to be. I was sort of expecting a "HERE BE BLACKS" marker in the legend or something. Shit like this get me
"There is of course nothing wrong with many other areas; but you don't know where you are, so you should not explore them."
What kind of logic is that. DO NOT STRAY AWAY FROM TOURIST LANDMARKS WHILE TRAVELING!

I don't get this logic. When I go to different areas I try my damn hardest NOT to look like a tourist. I want to embrace the experience and do whatever the locals do. By avoiding places or acting like a tourist I'm cheating myself of an experience I would otherwise not have.

But I suppose it's real important that a Tea Party vacation to Washington NOT include seeing the constitution at all cost. I mean, their head may explode if they actually realize what is written on it.

Shit, someone should go advise Joe Biden that he's in a dangerous neighborhood and needs to be careful. Make sure to not take the yellow line, you might end up in... Alexandria!

Don't you dare take the Blue or Orange line either. You might wind up in Georgetown! Hide you wallets there. Is it too much to ask for to pray that they're guided into Anacostia. I know I don't ask for much, god, but if there's one thing you can grant me, grant me that.

To be honest, I'm actually pretty familiar with DC geography from playing fallout 3. So I suppose I can see why the Tea Party would advise against that area, they're just worried they'll run low on .32 ammo in super mutant country.

I have a friend who is in Washington and his reaction to all this was "White people not from DC don't understand that you don't need to be afraid of black people here. You need to be afraid of Hispanics."

Ah, racial sensitivity.

Let's Do It Like They Do On The Discovery Channel

Let's Do It Like They Do On The Discovery Channel

Yesterdays hostage situation on at the Discovery Channel is a clear sign that something is wrong with humanity.

The problem is that people don't know how to do a proper hostage situation! I mean, come on. This guy was too much of a treehugger and spent far too much time on hippie websites and not enough time on bomb making websites. What a total failure. Then again, his message was just as insane as he was, but he sure wanted to get it across.

On the surface it just seems like the film Airheads come to life and instead of a demo tape, it's an ecological message. Only I wish that Adam Sandler got shot at the end of Airheads instead of getting the hot big boobed chick.

Anyhow, the dude died in the hostage situation, so maybe you should take a moment to see his absurd manifesto and break it down. You'll be amazed at what you'll learn from reading the mind of a maniac. Besides, this will be a good primer before we get next week's headline of a man gunning down a kindergarten class after delivering his manifesto based on Zen & the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance:

The Discovery Channel MUST broadcast to the world their commitment to save the planet and to do the following IMMEDIATELY:

1. The Discovery Channel and it's affiliate channels MUST have daily television programs at prime time slots based on Daniel Quinn's "My Ishmael" pages 207-212 where solutions to save the planet would be done in the same way as the Industrial Revolution was done, by people building on each other's inventive ideas. Focus must be given on how people can live WITHOUT giving birth to more filthy human children since those new additions continue pollution and are pollution. A game show format contest would be in order. Perhaps also forums of leading scientists who understand and agree with the Malthus-Darwin science and the problem of human overpopulation. Do both. Do all until something WORKS and the natural world starts improving and human civilization building STOPS and is reversed! MAKE IT INTERESTING SO PEOPLE WATCH AND APPLY SOLUTIONS!!!!

2. All programs on Discovery Health-TLC must stop encouraging the birth of any more parasitic human infants and the false heroics behind those actions. In those programs' places, programs encouraging human sterilization and infertility must be pushed. All former pro-birth programs must now push in the direction of stopping human birth, not encouraging it.

3. All programs promoting War and the technology behind those must cease. There is no sense in advertising weapons of mass-destruction anymore. Instead, talk about ways to disassemble civilization and concentrate the message in finding SOLUTIONS to solving global military mechanized conflict. Again, solutions solutions instead of just repeating the same old wars with newer weapons. Also, keep out the fraudulent peace movements. They are liars and fakes and had no real intention of ending the wars. ALL OF THEM ARE FAKE! On one hand, they claim they want the wars to end, on the other, they are demanding the human population increase. World War II had 2 Billion humans and after that war, the people decided that tripling the population would assure peace. WTF??? STUPIDITY! MORE HUMANS EQUALS MORE WAR!

4. Civilization must be exposed for the filth it is. That, and all its disgusting religious-cultural roots and greed. Broadcast this message until the pollution in the planet is reversed and the human population goes down! This is your obligation. If you think it isn't, then get hell off the planet! Breathe Oil! It is the moral obligation of everyone living otherwise what good are they??
He's right, you know. Discovery channel is such shit.

At this point let's take a little half time to soak in what he's saying. Don't think this is over with cause the man sure knew how to write on, but let's focus on some of his current points.

I wonder what Kate, from the hit show "Kate Plus Eight" has to say about this whole situation. In a way it's a good thing that Kate stuck around and Jon left because I don't think a show called Jon's Octagon would have the same marketability.

I guess I could always use this when my girlfriend eventually drops the baby talk on me. That much like this captain of ecology industry, speaking from a moral point of view, I'd rather have a tiger than a human baby because there are too few tigers and too plentiful people. Some people just don't get it.

I'm a bit confused about the hatred towards the weapon porn shows. If you hate humanity and feel like we're a plague on this green earth, weapon porn would be great. It encourages more dead people. If anything this dude should be thrilled if we have more wars. More opportunity to decrease our numbers and leave this planet at peace.

More humans may equal more wars. But more wars equals less humans. Think about it, man! Humanity may be filth but I'm sure taking a cable network hostage isn't going to fix it. Most people who do go green don't generally watch tv and would most certainly not be watching Discovery to begin with.

In fact, the only people you'll be getting by taking over the air waves is the lazy asses you hate so much and you wont be changing their minds in the slightest. Okay, let's move on to some of his other points.
5. Immigration: Programs must be developed to find solutions to stopping ALL immigration pollution and the anchor baby filth that follows that. Find solutions to stopping it. Call for people in the world to develop solutions to stop it completely and permanently. Find solutions FOR these countries so they stop sending their breeding populations to the US and the world to seek jobs and therefore breed more unwanted pollution babies. FIND SOLUTIONS FOR THEM TO STOP THEIR HUMAN GROWTH AND THE EXPORTATION OF THAT DISGUSTING FILTH! (The first world is feeding the population growth of the Third World and those human families are going to where the food is! They must stop procreating new humans looking for nonexistant jobs!)

6. Find solutions for Global Warming, Automotive pollution, International Trade, factory pollution, and the whole blasted human economy. Find ways so that people don't build more housing pollution which destroys the environment to make way for more human filth! Find solutions so that people stop breeding as well as stopping using Oil in order to REVERSE Global warming and the destruction of the planet!

7. Develop shows that mention the Malthusian sciences about how food production leads to the overpopulation of the Human race. Talk about Evolution. Talk about Malthus and Darwin until it sinks into the stupid people's brains until they get it!!

8. Saving the Planet means saving what's left of the non-human Wildlife by decreasing the Human population. That means stopping the human race from breeding any more disgusting human babies! You're the media, you can reach enough people. It's your resposibility because you reach so many minds!!!

9. Develop shows that will correct and dismantle the dangerous US world economy. Find solutions for their disasterous Ponzi-Casino economy before they take the world to another nuclear war.
Woah, woah woah. You had me till you talked about anchor babies. Did you really just go on about anchor babies as a problem? They should have called in the broad from The Closer to handle this hostage situation. Five minutes of listening to her and I'd blow my brains out for sure. But seriously, you're raging about anchor babies?

Here's another little intermission. Don't worry, we're almost to the end. Trust me, it's juicy stuff worth reading about.

I hate to break it to the guy but there's really no way to reverse global warming. You can't just refreeze those ice burgs, lower the ocean levels and patch up the hole in the ozone. Just can't be done so don't bother trying. Best you can do is stop the bleeding, and even then it's a case of the ball is already rolling. Many scientist have already said that we're past the point of no return already.

And while this guy is insane, I still love the line in #9 where he says "solutions for their disasterous Ponzi-Casino economy..." That line is awesome and I'm stealing it from him. It's not like he's going to notice anyway given the fact that he's dead and all.

The best hope for the planet really is for every person to kill someone else, then themselves. I'm not even speaking ironically. Just kill yourself, folks. Death is certain after all. Okay, back to the action!
10. Stop all shows glorifying human birthing on all your channels and on TLC. Stop Future Weapons shows or replace the dialogue condemning the people behind these developments so that the shows become exposes rather than advertisements of Arms sales and development!

11. You're also going to find solutions for unemployment and housing. All these unemployed people makes me think the US is headed toward more war.

Humans are the most destructive, filthy, pollutive creatures around and are wrecking what's left of the planet with their false morals and breeding culture.

For every human born, ACRES of wildlife forests must be turned into farmland in order to feed that new addition over the course of 60 to 100 YEARS of that new human's lifespan! THIS IS AT THE EXPENSE OF THE FOREST CREATURES!!!! All human procreation and farming must cease!

It is the responsiblity of everyone to preserve the planet they live on by not breeding any more children who will continue their filthy practices. Children represent FUTURE catastrophic pollution whereas their parents are current pollution. NO MORE BABIES! Population growth is a real crisis. Even one child born in the US will use 30 to a thousand times more resources than a Third World child. It's like a couple are having 30 babies even though it's just one! If the US goes in this direction maybe other countries will too!

Also, war must be halted. Not because it's morally wrong, but because of the catastrophic environmental damage modern weapons cause to other creatures. FIND SOLUTIONS JUST LIKE THE BOOK SAYS! Humans are supposed to be inventive. INVENT, DAMN YOU!!

The world needs TV shows that DEVELOP solutions to the problems that humans are causing, not stupify the people into destroying the world. Not encouraging them to breed more environmentally harmful humans.

Saving the environment and the remaning species diversity of the planet is now your mindset. Nothing is more important than saving them. The Lions, Tigers, Giraffes, Elephants, Froggies, Turtles, Apes, Raccoons, Beetles, Ants, Sharks, Bears, and, of course, the Squirrels.

The humans? The planet does not need humans.

You MUST KNOW the human population is behind all the pollution and problems in the world, and YET you encourage the exact opposite instead of discouraging human growth and procreation. Surely you MUST ALREADY KNOW this!

I want Discovery Communications to broadcast on their channels to the world their new program lineup and I want proof they are doing so. I want the new shows started by asking the public for inventive solution ideas to save the planet and the remaining wildlife on it.
Before we move on I would like to point out that every good list of demands will from here on out HAVE to include the word "Froggies" in it somewhere. If my demand is not met, I will... fuck. Well, I won't do anything but I would hope that if you're crazy enough to take hostages, you'd be crazy enough to include such a silly demand in there.

If you're wondering who pulled the trigger, it was Mike Rowe of course. Hey it is a Dirty Job after all. Just in time for sweeps we get a very special dirty jobs where Mike goes behind the scenes with a Swat team on a hostage situation.

There was already a death on Deadliest Catch, so that one doesn't need another one in this short of a time period. I like how this guy expects the discovery channel to research solutions to unemployment and homelessness but at the same time hates all human beings and wishes for them to die off.

Then again, while I'm not cheering for this guy. In fact I think folks who are cheering for him (no one that I know of) would be hypocrites by default because they have not killed themselves. I suppose the bible passage of Matthew 26:41 comes to mind "The spirit is willing but the flesh is weak".

Let me talk about the whole hostage idea for a minute though. I have to wonder how the hostage taker expected this to turn out? Walking into a building with a gun and fake explosives attached to his persons. Did he expect them to continue fulfilling those demands after he was taken into custody or was he planning on continuing the hostage situation for the whole fall season?

Negotiators usually do not offer anything solid other than something that can be delivered right here and right now. Stuff like a jet or a chopper or a telephone call or money. Something fairly small and easily obtained. So of course they were going to stall for time.

Remember that the goal is not to give the guy what he wants, it's to steer him off his current rage and get him on some sort of common ground with the negotiator where the negotiator can deliver things that he wants in the short term. You also have to remember that everything a police negotiator says during the pre-arraignment stages of this crime being committed can be and are most likely a lie. They could lie through their teeth and tell the guy anything he wants to get him to peacefully give up, which could include telling a Discovery rep to promise this guy in writing that they'll change their programming to his demands.. and then never do so.

So the whole concept that he would get the network to change their programing by taking them by gun point - Yeah, that's a Myth Busted.

In the end all James J. Lee wanted was that all humans on the earth be gone. But what ended up happening was that this situation only resulted in one preventing one person from destroying this earth... himself. One down, 7,999,999,999 to go.

There's Double Standards And Then There's Just Being A Slut

There's Double Standards And Then There's Just Being A Slut

I realize there's the double standard that if a man sleeps with a lot of women he's praised as being completely awesome and the high fives never stop where as if it's a woman who has a lot of sex, she's just a dirty whore.

Now I'm not one of those people. I encourage people to go out and have sex. Why not? The whole "waiting for marriage" thing never made any sense to me. Why would you want to encourage and praise bad sex? So I fully encourage the experimentation and finding yourself and what you like. No other way to do that other than by DOING it.

But then there's people that take that free pass to fuck around and hump it to the next level. Like this dirty slut from the UK.
A beauty therapist, 25, has claimed to have slept with 5,000 men in just nine years - or 3,285 days.

Nikki Lee also boasts about having a ‘personal best’ of four men in one night and she claims she has never had sex with the same conquest twice.

In an admission that will shock most people, the blonde Essex girl has told how she has had casual sex in nightclubs, alleyways, parks, cinemas and teen discos since losing her virginity at 16.

Miss Lee, who also works as a model, admits to going on regular sex holidays, where she sleeps with men in clubs, on beaches and on balconies. She averages having sex with two men every day and has kept the details of each of them in a little red notebook - all with scores.

She's had sex with 5,000 men in 9 years and not one repeat. Damn, and here she told me I was special. And my buddy a few minutes later as well. When I link him to this article, he's going to be crushed.

This really makes you wonder. Like, you know how food critics must get tired of eating high end food and just crave something home made. Movie critics lose all sorts of passion and can't really enjoy a "dumb" movie. I wonder if Ms. "Lots-o-fun" even enjoys sex anymore. Or if it's just one big attempt to pad out the number.

I don't want to sound like a pig, but you high five a guy who does this because it takes some amount of "skill" for a guy to rack up 5,000 women. Any halfway decent looking woman could accomplish this just by flagging down the first 5,000 guys she sees. As is pretty evident in this news piece.

Oh wait, did I say halfway decent looking? My bad.

If not anything else, it's pretty much proven that guys aren't picky when it comes to one night stands, ladies.

I'm a bit confused as to what to be more shocked about. the 5,000 total or the 2 a day thing. I suppose it could also be a scheme to get a lot of meals comped to you. Not to mention a whole lot less Protein powder that you have to use post work out... though it doesn't look like she's lifting much weights.

I'm not even sure what a beauty therapist is. I'm just reminded of that SNL Jeopardy skit "It looks like this is my lucky day. I'll take 'the rapists' for 200, Alex!"

But it seems that this is a sort of common thing across the pond as evident by another bed post notch counter.
London, October 25 (ANI): A 28-year-old British woman has confessed that she has slept with 900 men in nine years.

Victoria Betteridge, who comes from Hertfordshire, revealed that her parents were devout Catholics and she grew up in a private girls’ boarding school where guys were banned before she started to get naughty.

And now, the Oxford graduate has not held back any details of her sex antics.

“I know most girls say their first time isn’t great, but I couldn’t get over how incredible it felt! I’d never had anyone touch my bare flesh before - it was amazing. I just wanted to do it over and over again,” the News of the World quoted her as saying.

Victoria recollected her first affair with a guy named Tom, she said: “If we didn’t have sex at least three times a day, I felt moody and irritable.

“But Tom didn’t want to spend all day in bed. He wanted to meet his mates or study for his course. In the end, we broke up by mutual agreement - I think Tom wanted a relationship that was more than just sex.”

So... British chicks are slutty? If you excuse me, I have a plane to catch... and hopefully nothing else. So what was Victoria's secret?

“I’d go to student bars and clubs, dance provocatively in front of a man I fancied, then ask him to buy me a drink - it was that easy,” Victoria shrugs.

“Most of the blokes thought I was a ‘cool bird’ and liked the fact I took control and only wanted sex. I regularly slept with at least two guys a week - sometimes more. But I didn’t feel slutty. I was making up for lost time! Men do it all the time, so why shouldn’t women?” she adds defiantly.

As much as you think men would like to, they don't go around sleeping with 900 women because of lost time. Since we're all superficial up in this grill, what does Victoria look like?

Well that's not bad. Though that doesn't make much sense. The better looking one has less notches on her belt. And I'm not even going to get to the whole notion that having many sex partners will make you have a "Sleeve like a wizard" or that it'll be like a Hot dog being tossed in a hall way. Just think of the logic there.

Say you had only one sex partner for 9 years, you'd probably had sex a thousand times, where as someone who has sex with a thousand people would have the same amount of good ol' in&out. So it's not like it's any more stretching. Besides, think of passing a baby through that, it bounces back. Amazing how durable the human body is with a little upkeep.

But I would have to question the chances and the risk you are taking by doing this. That's a lot of potential for picking up something if you're doing two a day like the first girl. For the record, here's the STD statistics for the UK.

Yeah.. I guess the lesson here is that some people are more than happy to brag about a number. I also don't get the bragging rights in "With no repeats" either. Isn't that a bad thing. I means you were able to fool them into bed once, but no way are they coming back. I would think that you would base your services more on the return customers.

But hey, that's just me and I'm not making a goal in having a dictionary sized history book under my belt.
