Did You Remember? This Is Going To Be The Best 9/11 Yet!

Did You Remember? This Is Going To Be The Best 9/11 Yet!

It sort of has to be. Look at what's going on in the world. There's a big money swindle in Afghanistan, Massive amounts of daily attacks in flooded, nuclear-armed Pakistan, a ground zero mosque that's getting protested and scheduled Qu'ran burnings that are off again, on again are being protested in Kabul when it was just first announced earlier in the week. Today is also Eid ul-Fitr, which marks the last day of Ramadan.

I should probably warn you ahead of time that I'm hardly tasteful when it comes to this most sacred high holiday of our nation. So if you get offended by me being curious as to if hallmark is selling cards for this annual event yet. You should probably sway away as I do think they really should get on that. It could be a major money maker. "Sorry terrorist killed your daddy. Best regards"

I'm no fun. I always tell people on 9/11 to remember the six digit death count of noncombatants in Afghanistan and Iraq. How could I not be jaded? There's school districts where parents are protesting the school because the board of education didn't go above and beyond the governor's executive order, which calls for half-mast flags and simply suggests a moment of silence.

You hear that? He simply suggested it, he didn't make it mandatory! How dare he not make it mandatory! Doesn't he know that you need to honor the sacrifice of those 3,000 people who died for America's freedom by requiring a minute of silence.

Never mind the fact that a mandatory guideline enforceable by some form of punishment sort of takes away a sense of freedom of what those people were claimed to have died for. Then again, taking away freedoms to retaliate against people who hate our freedom is nothing new.

I guess the question left unanswered is what is everyone doing for 9/11? I'm going to go down to the bar and order a 9/11. How do you make that? Well, you drop two kamikazes in a Manhattan and knock it down.

You have to admit that those terrorist that carried out the attack on 9/11 were either tactically brilliant or extremely lucky in the way they nearly destroyed the head of our military, decapitated our government, and successfully destroyed one of the headquarters of our global economic hegemony all with about 20 dudes and some box cutters.

Perhaps that sounds like I support these terrorist, and it's stupid that I have to say I don't, because who in their fucking right mind would? But you have to admit, historically speaking, they're going to be mentioned alongside the Spartans from 300. And I'm sure that just got me put on some government watch list.

To further dig myself into a hole, I should remind you that if we executed a similar attack with bombers on an enemy of the state, or for that matter an unsuspecting nation, we would consider the 3000 dead to be well within acceptable losses and our public would cheer on the destruction.

If you need examples of this, please see Iraq.

And before you get too sad about all the 3,000 victims of the tragedy you have to think, weren't most of the tenants financial firms who, at the time, were most likely creating the financial bubble that is destroying our economy? Or perhaps that when the tower came down it only left the inexperienced parasites that didn't understand not to kill the host alive to run the ship. You have to wonder what the ratio of capitalists and war mongers to working class in those buildings.

But hey, let's just ignore all the chaos they caused, not to mention that the violence we are causing around the world and let's focus on how much of a violent manuscript those towel head's have for a bible and burn it on this high holy holiday.
A Florida pastor's plan to burn Qurans at his church on Sept. 11 ignited a protest today by hundreds of Afghans, who burned American flags and shouted "Death to America," and the top U.S. commander in Afghanistan said the preacher could be increasing the threat to his troops.

Have people who say stuff like "Have you read the Koran? They are violent!" actually read the bible? The book is filled with violence. One dude got killed for cumming on the floor and not in his dead brother's wife.

God himself drowned the entire world! How much more violent can you get? Oh, I see. It's because the Koran is making a bid and has become a converting religion and is attempting to spread itself? Yeah, Christianity doesn't want to face competition. It's not like they don't have their holy book in every god damn hotel and motel across this country.

I guess we should just see what other books we could burn. Anyone have some suggestions? I personally don't approve of burning books, but I guess there are probably way more copies of Atlas Shrugged in the world than anyone will ever possibly need. Especially with the way our economy is going. Let's also toss in Michael Crichton's State of Fear and as well as Max Barry's Jennifer Government

Then came the BREAKING NEWS that Jones canceled the burning because he met some random Florida Muslim who said that he personally would prefer the mosque moved, and took that as a Islamic promise that it would be and was then outraged that he's been lied to. Because obviously all Muslims are linked by a hive mind like brain. But then the news got a whole lot more entertaining.
However, those behind the cultural centre denied that they ever spoken to the local imam or Mr Jones.

Mr Jones then said Imam Muhammad Musri had "clearly, clearly lied to us".

"Given what we are now hearing, we are forced to rethink our decision," Mr Jones said. "So as of right now, we are not cancelling the event, but we are suspending it."

Mr Musri, from the Islamic Society of Central Florida, said Mr Jones had "stretched his words", and that he had only agreed to fly to New York with Mr Jones on Saturday and speak with the leaders of the Islamic centre project.

Mr Musri said he had told the pastor "that I personally believe the mosque should not be there, and I will do everything in my power to make sure it is moved", but denied ever mentioning any offer to move it.
If the administration had ignored this idiots insane rantings about potentially burning a book that is no more violent than his own holy book, then perhaps people wouldn't have died in the riots protesting the proposed on/off burning. Not to mention the copy cats. Even if mister Jones decides not to do it, you know tons of other right-wing idiots are going to take his place and be the edgy one to burn the Koran.

Did you see the smug look on that asshole's face? You don't need to watch the whole thing, it gets really annoying after the 40th "What's your name" and "Watch your step" as the police lead him out. But there you go, Pastor Jones. Isn't that what you wanted? I should also put some blame on the news medias for making such an epic news piece out of some loser in Florida.

It's as if they'll do anything to make sure to troll anyone who lives in a sand country. People are actually writing "Koran" on pieces of paper, CD's of the downloaded document files of the Koran and burning that. Then there's this very stab at thy heart act..

I'm still amazed that people actually think that bacon and pig's blood is like kryptonite for Muslims. It's pretty hilarious. What next? You going to put slabs of meat and a piece of cheese on a Torah and then spill on it wine handled by a gentile?

There was that news going around that troops were putting pig's blood on their bullets, as if getting shot with something they don't consider clean would hurt anymore than the fact that they just got fucking shot. More than likely for doing nothing but being Hajji.

Besides that, why is it news now that someone is messing with their holy book? It's not like there hasn't been reports going all the way back to 2002 of US soldiers ripping pages out of prisoners' Korans and flushing them down the toilet and no one gave a shit about all that until now. It took you, Terry Jones, and your 30 followers to bring this to the global level.

So then we just got to the bottom of all this. To get the proposed Mosque near* ground zero to move. I'm not sure if threatening to burn their holy book is anymore tasteless than what the right wing news medias do on a daily basis in encouraging the morons of this nation to become even more bigoted towards other religions.

But it's not like Fox or the New York Post are defining a zone of Muslim exclusion by where 9/11 victims' remains were found...

Oh fuck. Well now. touche. Fox news is literally using deaths of innocents as talking points for their political agenda. I'm curious as to how many bodies it takes to make sure you're both fair and balanced. Maybe Fox should be pushing for the center's construction to be on top of the ancient American patriot burial ground so that the inevitable haunting can drive Muslims away forever.

But let's just take a look at how Fox news is trying to spin this shit now....

Oh no! A second right wing biased media format has hit the stupid topic in the form of the New York Post;

wow, what the fuck is this. I find myself wondering where the line that The Onion ends on and Fox News/ NY Post begins. But then you factor that even with this spin in the no spin zone, it's not much of a defense when you think about it. The community center isn't in the remains-cluster on that map, so it should be fine.

We keep this day holy and sacred for some reason. I'm not exactly sure why, either. When you think about it, the terrorist won. Every time you go to the airport and you have to suffer airport security going through your shit, which in the situation of your laptop has been ruled unconstitutional, you should realize that the terrorist won.

That's the way terrorism works and how we let them win. It's not the attack that hurts the most people, given this one did hurt a lot of people and every death is tragic, especially of the FDNY, since they had little communications thanks to congress not giving them funding, but the real tragedy is of the loss of freedoms for the survivors.

When you look at the laundry list of freedoms that our country has lost, you should see every little victory by those who hate our lifestyle. Basically what I'm saying is that when the planes hit and Bush just sat there stupedfied reading ma chèvre de compagnie it was over. the terrorists won and everyone knew it.

I like to believe that Bush would have been a one term useless president without 9/11 happening. And that we would be a totally different country today otherwise. Historians are going to look back and this is going to be one of those 'what if Germany won the war" of the 21st century type of things.

Then again, 9/11 just provided the administration with the excuse to do openly what it had always been planning to do in Afghanistan as well as getting payback on Saddam for dear ol' Daddy.

The government policies that came out of 9/11 still sicken me. We're in two full out wars attempting to reconstruct countries that never even thought about attacking us. It wasn't even preemptive, we just straight up attacked two countries unprovoked.

There's many organizations that recognize these military operations as war crimes. It's only a matter of time before enemies of the U.S., like Syria and Iran, start issuing official statements acknowledging the war crimes committed by the U.S. military and the various security firms it hired against the people of Iraq and Afghanistan. Opening up the flood gates for other nations to follow suit.

You have to wonder why we're even in Afghanistan.. Okay, well you don't have to really considering we just found a giant amount of lithium that those "sand people" have been living on. But long before we hit flatscreen pay dirt the Bush administration was all gung-ho and trying to find a reason to go in there for the obvious reason of oil. It's really a tragic tale that more people don't realize it or want to admit to it.

The Bush administration was looking to take advantage of the situation to get a pipeline through from the Caspian for some time before it. In fact, look at this administration memo.
"May 15, 2001
Regarding the placement of the Unocal Pipeline, a US Official delivered this ultimatum to the Taliban (via the Pakistani delegation acting as their interlocutors): "Either you accept our offer of a carpet of gold, or we bury you under a carpet of bombs." (Ref: Jean-Charles Brisard and Guillaume Dasquie in "Forbidden Truth" (31) (Book's Preface online-pdf format (32) )"
found it here
They were already planning on going into Afghanistan long before those towers came down. To add even more fuel to the fire, Karzai was an adviser to the company that was going to do the pipeline. So we were even dealing with that fucker. The bonus for him? His brother runs the drug game in Afghanistan.

If you have a few more moments of silence to spare, I would highly advise reading this TIMES article on how the Bush Administration was way ahead of the terrorist attacks in wanting a reason to go there. So you just have to wonder how many decades of grieving before we get taken to the world's court?

And if you want to pin it on ourselves as an inside job or not, that's your own doing. I may be very opinionated on other subjects, but the topic of if we destroyed the WTC just doesn't cross my mind. Maybe I just can't accept that we could do that. And for the record, it was a tragedy no matter who did it or why.

Be thankful I didn't put in Tribute.wmv

Also, I may be crass with some of the things said or the images posted here, but for my money what I find far more offensive than any number of 9/11 jokes I could tell here is when Politicians pull out the 9/11 card out of their asses to justify anything they want, but then won't approve a health care fund for first responders.

It's really embarrassing.

The fact that we can't get the medical care for those first responders and for all of those people who now suffer lung illnesses because they were shoveling around in the muck and debris of the collapsed towers searching as it went from a rescue mission to one of recovery. So maybe I joke around about this or roll my eyes at the "patriotic" songs simply because if I stopped and took any of that seriously for a second, I would be too ashamed of my fellow man.

So is paying a little respect and decency, even once a year, for thousands of murdered fellow human beings too much to ask for? I say yes, it is. Not to be mean and say get over it, but we should move on. I'm not being edgy or ironic. There is a difference between private grieving and a public holiday designed to pick at old wounds and rile up the masses thirst for Arab blood.

Americans love watching shock and awe on their TV, but when someone does it to us we get whiny about it. The use of 9/11 to portray the US as a victim needs to be done away with and de-legitimized. It needs to be mocked at every opportunity. No one should be able to invoke that day without feeling like a complete hypocrite.

So with that I say God bless you, God bless the United States of America. Good night, good luck.. Never forget, as if you could somehow.

Planned Mosque in California Too Close To Ground Zero

Planned Mosque in California Too Close To Ground Zero

And yet here's another blog entry about a planned Mosque getting erected in some location that is clearly pissing people off since it's too close to ground zero. Our own version of Mecca, it appears.

Here we are just a couple of days till the anniversary. Oh don't tell me you forgot... And what's there to talk about other than how those crazy Mosque are taking over the place. It leads one to wonder if America is really that land to go for freedom of religion. Is America Islamophobic?

That should be like the National Geographic magazine that had the question about evolution being wrong, and have it that when you fold out the cover the other half has YES written on it. Or even better, the cover should simply say America is Isalmophobic because that's the truth and not a we're-just-asking-question dodge on the issue.

Don't you know that you can't build your Mosque on this property you purchased, Don't you know that So Cal is hallowed ground! That Mosque is only two blocks away from where Lindsey Lohan passed out once!

It feels like the worst thing about this whole ordeal is all the strained metaphors used. Well, maybe not the worst thing, but they're still pretty fucking dumb. The article goes on with a lot of choice quotes.
Pastor Bill Rench, whose Calvary Baptist Church sits just across the cul de sac from the mosque site, says Islam and Christianity are like "oil and water" and that Islam is "intolerant at its core". He argues that when Islam becomes dominant in a society, "you also see a repression of freedom of speech and religious expression.
Ha! You don't say. I hear that if certain religions come into power you lose the freedom of choice and all your laws are created by religious right wings. But hey, make up whatever facts you want.

How about the fact that the Christian bible is in every hotel and motel from East to West coast. So whenever you're fucking your hooker or just taking a nap from a long day driving, you have a dominate religion putting itself in your life. Why is that never touched upon.

Yes, this religion may have a few followers, but you're still top fucking dog on the totem pole and perhaps you shouldn't get bent out of shape if someone else wants to play in the sand box of make believe bearded higher powers in the sky.
The proposed 25,000-square-foot mosque would be approximately the same size as the churches next door and hold between 150 to 300 worshipers, say mosque officials and city planners.
Worshipers? More like terrorist anchor babies waiting to blow something else up! You might as well hurry up and build the freedom tower so that they can plan on bringing it down again, even from California. That's how fucking crazy Muslims are.

Ron Patterson, 65, says a lady recently canvassed his nearby neighborhood with a petition to stop the mosque. She told him that 3,000 people would be attending the mosque with services three times a day. The retired mailman signed because he is concerned about increased traffic and about possible religious extremists. "I am sure most mosques are perfectly fine, but it is a natural concern." Patterson says he thinks the mosque will be built. "If the city says okay, what are you going to do? It's freedom of speech and religion."
All I have to say is Damn you constitution!! DAAAAAAAMN YOOOOUUUUUUUUU!

Now if that doesn't have some production values, I don't know what does. Oh, did you think I was done with the quotes? Ha! Not by a long shot. Look at this one;
You know the saying about when you point one finger, four more point back? Yeah.. look who's the intolerant one in that above statement.

Just saying. I'm surprised he could say it with a straight face. And over in New York this next fox news tag line had me rolling.
"Protesters will be gathering soon at the Ground Zero Mega-Mosque...... but what they don't know is that there are already Muslims praying inside!"
- Fox News
My, I sure hope those Muslims don't pray that something bad happens to the protesters! That would not be good for business. This one really gets me.
Brooklyn plumber Steve Ayling says the people who want to build the project are the same ones who "took down the twin towers." Nearby, several hundred people who support the mosque chanted "Muslims are welcome here. We say no to racist fear."
Maybe they should hold the protest at ground zero. That why they can't actually see the Mosque. Oh noes! A second protester has just hit the Park51 complex with his fat fingered fist! This is definitely not an accident!

I'm not sure how I would be able to go to one of these protests and keep a straight face.
"Opponents of the $100 million project two blocks from the World Trade Center site appeared to outnumber supporters. Bruce Springsteen's "Born in the USA" blared over loudspeakers as mosque opponents chanted, "No mosque, no way!"
Seriously? I mean.. seriously?! I wonder if Springsteen kicks himself for that song being completely misinterpreted by about 90% of people, or if he's just smugly satisfied with the irony. These things make you think.

I sure love me some pictures with extra background irony going on there.
CHRISTIANITY = 2000 YEARS OF: MURDER! RAPE! SLAVERY! BIBLE = TERROR MANUAL!
POPE = TERRORIST!
PROOF: LAST TWO MILLENIA OF WESTERN HISTORY,
CHURCH = TERROR TOWER!

And Nancy, did you really need to do this?
WASHINGTON (AP) — House Speaker Nancy Pelosi says she wants to look into who is funding the opposition to a proposed Islamic center near the site of the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks in New York.

The California Democrat on Wednesday said Muslim leaders have the right to build a proposed Islamic center, including a mosque, two blocks from the World Trade Center site and that the decision should be made by local leaders. But she says she wants to know who is paying for the $100 million project and who is funding the fervent opposition to the plan.

Pelosi's office released the statement after she told San Francisco radio station KCBS that opponents are trying to politicize the project. She told the station she wants to know, "How is this being ginned up?"
The person who is paying for this project is the same person who donates tons of money to Fox news. So hey, again.. four fingers point back. So hey, this 9/11, perhaps we should look back and see how the terrorist really did win, by limiting the freedoms we afford to one another in whatever their beliefs may be.

Or we could just wait till the red neck hicks burn them all down.. *Update* He canceled it.. maybe?

MURFREESBORO, Tenn. – Federal investigators said Friday that a suspicious fire that damaged construction equipment at the site of a future mosque in Tennessee was arson and offered a $20,000 reward for information leading to an arrest.

The blaze frightened members of the Islamic Center of Murfreesboro, which has found its plans to build a new mosque drawn into a fierce debate surrounding a proposed Islamic community center two blocks from Manhattan's ground zero.

Firefighters had said there was a strong smell of diesel from the fire that engulfed the cab of a dump truck last weekend, and authorities found fresh fuel pooled under a second dump truck, according to an incident report from the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department.

Yeah. I'm so glad those religious types keep strict to their religion and are kind to their fellow man. But at least they're keeping busy burning books....

Gainesville church planning ‘Burn the Quran Day’ is denied permit, but plans to do it anyway.
The ironically named Dove World Church — whose pastor, Terry Jones, has written a book called “Islam Is Of The Devil,” which is also emblazoned on a sign outside the institution — is planning to host “International Burn A Quran Day” on September 11. But the radical church ran into a new roadblock yesterday as Gainesville city officials “denied a burn permit” for the church for the event, effectively telling them doing so would be illegal. The church, undeterred, sent out an e-mail to supporters promising to hold the burning event anyway:

Gainesville officials denied a burn permit for a church that plans to burn copies of the Quran on the ninth anniversary of the September 11 attacks. The Gainesville church, the Dove World Outreach Center, has a history of inflammatory comments and campaigns against Islam and remained defiant despite the burn permit denial.

In an e-mail sent out Wednesday, the church said, “City of Gainesville denies burn permit – BUT WE WILL STILL BURN KORANS.”

Under the city’s fire protection ordinances, the open burning of books is not allowed. The city’s fire chief, Gene Prince, told a local news station that the “church will be fined if it holds the book burning.” Mayor Craig Lowe, who has in the past referred to the church as a “tiny fringe group and an embarrassment to our community,” told The Gainesville Sun that he supports the officials’ in denying the book burning. “Based upon the law and the ordinances that have been set forward by the city of Gainesville, I support and respect the decision,” he said.

I wonder if the police will step in and put a halt to it or just watch idly and stop anyone else from putting a halt to it.

Is it really that bad of me to hope that they ignite the pile of books too close to their church and the wind will suddenly pick up and start their church on fire? Or maybe if you give them a pile of bibles printed in Arabic and let them go at it burning them, only telling them afterward what the ugly secret is when they're standing over the pile of ashes, that would sure be funny.

What's the chances that these books are constructed of materials that release highly toxic gases when burned. Do I really have a serious problem with a church from doing it? Well, it would be contradictory of me to stop their freedom to do something stupid. I guess in the end it's just a mean thing to do and goes to show what we already know... that we're not very tolerant.

The Audacity of Jihad

The audacity of Jihad!

While I know that the tactic of fear mongering is fully in effect in our modern day society, I never thought the sheep of the people would be so quick to follow. It's time to add another entry to my long list of American controversies that could be resolved with a simple "who gives a crap?"

Because I've seen a lot of laugh out loud republican campaign ads in my day, hell I typically point them out to everyone and laugh at them, but this one takes the cake for absurd statements and fear mongering.

Holy crap, I'm going to boost my nerd points but that's the voice of the narrator from Homeworld. Good to see the recession hasn't hit him hard. Or maybe it has and that's why he's doing this sort of work.
"A mosque is about to be erected on the hallowed acreage of lower Manhattan's Ground Zero. Where we Americans weep, they rejoice and intend to erect a shrine to the 9/11 terrorist they hail as martyrs. This offense cannot stand."
Now normally I would consider that nothing more than some sort of Onion level satire. Because read that. There's so much wrong with that statement and yet here we are with those words being written... Someone took pen to paper and wrote those words. My mind sort of melts just thinking about that.

I don't think they start dancing the moment the clock hits 9:11 nor do I think that they're even thinking about the terrorist attacks. I mean, maybe as much as Catholics think about the Spanish Inquisition. And let's be honest, I make fun of 9/11 probably more than any mosque goer does. I'm not going to pretend I'm a saint - I just laugh about this Nevar forgetting bullshit. As if at some point I'm going to not remember that during my life time two large buildings came down in New York and killed a lot of people.

Somehow I think that number is a bit fudged.

Maybe I should start going up to people and telling them "You know that 9/11 thing? Yeah, I didn't much care for that." I mean, get over it already people. You really shouldn't be using 9/11 to stop a church from being built. Even if it's near ground zero.

Just imagine a place were one of the bloodiest battles in history was fought, one that was used to justify the use of The Bomb. and then they came and built military bases all over, shrines to the religion of permanent war on that hallowed ground

What the hell are we in Iraq for? I thought we were fighting this war for our freedom. Doesn't seem like such a free place when some religion can't built their place of worship. This sort of thing is odd coming from me. I'm a hard atheist. Though most people don't believe in God(s), only an atheist takes it one god further.

Then again, you could just be like this fucking moron and claim that a group of Mooooooslim terrorist crashed two planes into the world trade center, killing millions on purpose just so they could build this temple here..

Need I remind you that for several months after, the 9/11 death toll was literally reported at twice the actual figure. Guess you just had to make it personal in order for everyone to be fully supportive of going to war with Iraq in Operation Defending Freedom. From who? I'm not entirely sure.

Any rational person would realize that freedom from religious persecution is something that America was founded on. So with that excuse sort of nixed it's just a matter of trying to come up with another reason as to why they shouldn't allow this mosque to be built. Their latest attempt was a stupid ship buried under the rubble.
In the middle of tomorrow, a great ribbed ghost has emerged from a distant yesterday.

On Tuesday morning, workers excavating the site of the underground vehicle security center for the future World Trade Center hit a row of sturdy, upright wood timbers, regularly spaced, sticking out of a briny gray muck flecked with oyster shells.

Obviously, these were more than just remnants of the wooden cribbing used in the late 18th and early 19th centuries to extend the shoreline of Manhattan Island ever farther into the Hudson River. (Lower Manhattan real estate was a precious commodity even then.)

“They were so perfectly contoured that they were clearly part of a ship,” said A. Michael Pappalardo, an archaeologist with the firm AKRF, which is working for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey to document historical material uncovered during construction.

By Wednesday, the outlines made it plain: a 30-foot length of a wood-hulled vessel had been discovered about 20 to 30 feet below street level on the World Trade Center site, the first such large-scale archaeological find along the Manhattan waterfront since 1982, when an 18th-century cargo ship came to light at 175 Water Street.

The area under excavation, between Liberty and Cedar Streets, had not been dug out for the original trade center. The vessel, presumably dating from the mid- to late 1700s, was evidently undisturbed more than 200 years.

News of the find spread quickly. Archaeologists and officials hurried to the site, not only because of the magnitude of the discovery but because construction work could not be interrupted and because the timber, no longer safe in its cocoon of ooze, began deteriorating as soon as it was exposed to air.
But protesters, for an instance, began to ponder if they could use this discovery to claim that the site could be used as a historical site and not to be touched with and thus, not allowing the mosque to be built... failing to realize that the freedom towers will never be built.

Then again, they never were going to be finished anyway. Its been nine years and the WTC isn't reubuilt. The height of government stupidity and bureaucracy is just amazing. How about writing about that, NY Times. We'll have our first Muslim president before they actually finish the freedom tower. Oh wait, we already do...

But at least that hurdle was taken care of over the last few days..

The New York City Landmarks Preservation Commission — "responsible for identifying and designating the City's landmarks and the buildings in the City's historic districts" — has decided not to assign landmark status to a building on Park Place, two blocks north of Ground Zero.

After the board's unanimous vote, its chairman, Robert B. Tierney, said the structure, which previously home to a Burlington Coat Factory, "does not rise to the level of an individual landmark."

What are they trying to say about Burlington Coat Factory?! $9.11 for my blazer - Never Forget! Bu thank fucking GOD! I mean, seriously.. this was a pretty weak attempt to toss a nail in the road for this. Maybe Islam is the light after all..

Did you know that the site of the WTC used to be a landfill. In fact it currently is a landfill. I just want to know if that boat was used to sell slaves or destroy pods of whales? Maybe Bin Laden's not a terrorist and is just a very aggressive archaeologist. I'm pretty sure this is Noah's Ark and thus proving that America is God's country. I'm certain that god actually put the boat there specifically to remind us of that so they wouldn't build the mosque.

My hope is that it contained an ancient but active strain of smallpox that we have no vaccine against. Perhaps there will be some slave shackles and we can reminisce about simpler times in America. Fun Fact - The WTC finally reached full renting capacity right before it blew up.

I know I was waiting real hard to hear if they found another boat just so I could say "A SECOND BOAT HAS BEEN FOUND UNDER THE WTC!" But then again, that would be completely tasteless.

If it ended up being a slave ship, it could totally be a version of the tell-tale heart. And if it isn't a slave ship, I'd so want it to be a Barbary trading ship. Then it would turn out that the WTC was built on a foundation of Islam all along.

I'm just glad that both CBS and NBC decided that they will not air this ad. Capitalism at work. But I really am confused by the latest piece of news on this one. It seems that the ADL jumped into the fight against the mosque.
We regard freedom of religion as a cornerstone of the American democracy, and that freedom must include the right of all Americans – Christian, Jewish, Muslim, and other faiths – to build community centers and houses of worship.

We categorically reject appeals to bigotry on the basis of religion, and condemn those whose opposition to this proposed Islamic Center is a manifestation of such bigotry.

However, there are understandably strong passions and keen sensitivities surrounding the World Trade Center site. We are ever mindful of the tragedy which befell our nation there, the pain we all still feel – and especially the anguish of the families and friends of those who were killed on September 11, 2001.

The controversy which has emerged regarding the building of an Islamic Center at this location is counterproductive to the healing process. Therefore, under these unique circumstances, we believe the City of New York would be better served if an alternative location could be found.

In recommending that a different location be found for the Islamic Center, we are mindful that some legitimate questions have been raised about who is providing the funding to build it, and what connections, if any, its leaders might have with groups whose ideologies stand in contradiction to our shared values. These questions deserve a response, and we hope those backing the project will be transparent and forthcoming. But regardless of how they respond, the issue at stake is a broader one.

Proponents of the Islamic Center may have every right to build at this site, and may even have chosen the site to send a positive message about Islam. The bigotry some have expressed in attacking them is unfair, and wrong. But ultimately this is not a question of rights, but a question of what is right. In our judgment, building an Islamic Center in the shadow of the World Trade Center will cause some victims more pain – unnecessarily – and that is not right.
I have to say that it's pretty ironic that something called the anti-defamation league is opposed to something purely on the basis of religion.

I recall when the ADL appealed to the US government to deny the Armenian genocide.. Yeah, they're classy that way. I guess the message that should be taken away here is that Muslims destroyed the towers. Not an extremist group. Just all Muslims.

It's as if we can't have some socialist Islamic "community" center anywhere near our shrine to crass capitalism. Now if they built a private corporate-run flight school or something that would be something we could get behind for those tax dollars.

Not to sound like a complete asshole but 9/11 happened ALMOST A DECADE AGO! I think we're all pretty much done healing from it. Has the fact that the mosque isn't on the actual WTC site and is like a few blocks away just totally dropped out of the discourse or what? Then again, when have facts ever mattered in things like this.

And if having a mosque blocks away from the WTC defiles the whole deaths there, perhaps using any public restroom wouldn't be the best thing. I mean, you would be taking a shit a few blocks away from WTC. Way to shit on the glorious remains of the World Trade Center with that healthy diet of hummus and halal food.

At least there's some folks that aren't completely ignorant.

Never Forget to Remember Me

Never Forget to Remember Me

Ever since I was a wee lad I wanted to work in the "talking pictures." Maybe it was because I was born and raised in Los Angeles and even though I do work on a film studio right now, I know there's one thing stopping me from being a director. My reckless abandonment of anything sane.

As a little boy playing with action figures and setting them up to star in my movie I imagined how awesome it would be to make a completely sober, serious movie and play it straight for 99% of the run-time and then introduce a completely ridiculous non-sequitur ending like the main character succumbing to Spontaneous Human Combustion, Aliens coming down and raping him, getting run over by my parents car tire as they pull up the drive way, or something equally absurd, just for the sheer sake of trolling the audience.

Now I don't have to imagine what it's like anymore. Robert Pattinson's new film Remember Me did it for me. Oh, don't want to get a film you wouldn't have seen anyway spoiled? Fucking pussy.

For those of you still reading, Bravo! You're in for some expected treats. Imagine this - A modern love story set in what New Yorkers believe is the epicenter of the world, New York. Two people come across and have a relationship that is the bees-knees. They have their issues and one has daddy issues. Finally resolving those daddy issues, even if it causes the relationship to suffer, he goes and visits his father.. in Tower 1 of the WTC.. on September 11th.. And there you go, WHAT A TWIST!

According to the first reviews on Rotton Tomatoes, there's no foreshadowing of the ending. It just happens. I mean, think about it, I severely doubt that they are going to toss in a "Meanwhile in Afghanistan" in the middle of these two young twenty something love birds enjoying their young love in New York.

Just imagine that being attached to your romance film. Camera zooms out of window at New York Skyline, you see a plane heading straight at Pattinson, camera turns around and zooms into Pattinson's eye. Explosion. Fade to black. The average unprepared moviegoer just sits, and stares. Isn't that right, some loser at AICN?
Many of you have already heard about this ending; some are just reading to confirm that it is in fact the ending you’ve been hearing so much about. Yes. It is that ending. Just as Tyler gets a precious glimpse into the mind of his father and feels, for the first time, as if he understands him, his father’s secretary asks “How old would your brother be?” “28. He died May 20th, 1995. You should know that.” Throughout the film it is mentioned that his brother died at the age of 22. Just as you begin doing the mental math, plugging six years into that equation and realizing that they just celebrated Labor Day – we cut back to Tyler’s little sister in her classroom. The teacher steps out from in front of the chalkboard. It reads September 11, 2001. Back to Tyler who steps over to the window and looks out over the city. Gosh he’s high above it. Now we’re outside looking in. The building is unmistakable. We pull back and see its twin framed behind it.

All this time the film has failed to mention that Tyler’s dad works in the World Trade Center. Now I’ve been told that other prints showing around the country set up the date of the film as taking place in 2001 on a title card towards the beginning – some press materials are including this as well. Our print apparently didn’t have it. No one I spoke too saw a date. But twist or not, surprise or not, my response is the same. This ending is cheap, low and despicable. It’s bad enough when a love story aims to rob the audience of a happy ending through an easy but tragic twist of fate accident like being run over by a bus or struck with brain cancer or some such horrible thing; but when you invoke the single most profound, horrifying, culture changing event of the modern era, you best have something powerful to say about it.
That shock of an ending is great. I don't even mind that they're totally ripping off an idea about a romantic comedy where an adorable couple gets into a series of wacky hijinks as they take a train across Europe and then BAM! the infamous gates to Auschwitz close behind them.

This film just went viral

The film would only be better if he somehow got to time travel and met Dale Earnhardt jut before he dies in a car wreck. Or how about if the second plane turned into a werewolf and fought with Robter Pattinson over the love of the first plane, which turned into a woman....

I just have to wonder how on top of wardrobe they were. I mean, think about how much of a pain it must have been to be the Script supervisor on this film? No iPhones, nobody texting other people, Zoolander posters all over the place, iPods powered by coal - They really did keep this as a period piece, damn it! It's brilliant if you think about it. This movie, if it is ever remembered, will be remembered for unzipping its pants and letting 9/11 flap down onto an audience made entirely of fat women, preteen girls and my friend Ray, who loves him some chick flicks.

I also have to hand it to Pattinson. He's sure knows how to troll people. If not with proof of this film, but with his life in general as a magnet for teenage fangirls.
"I really hate vaginas. I’m allergic to vagina."
HE even hates Twilight. Or at least his character.
"When you read the [Twilight series], it’s like saying ‘Edward Cullen is so beautiful I creamed myself’. I mean every line is like that. He’s the most ridiculous person who’s so amazing at everything. I think a lot of actors tried to play that aspect. I just couldn’t do it. And the more I read the script, the more I hated this guy, so that’s how I played him, as a manic-depressive who hates himself. Plus, he’s a 108 year-old virgin, so there’s clearly some issues there."
I think I just met my new homie. He is seriously comically amazing. You have to admit, now that's just funny. If that doesn't make you think twice about this guy then how about how he treats his stalkers.
"I had a stalker while filming a movie in Spain last year. She stood outside of my apartment every day for weeks—all day every day. I was so bored and lonely that I went out and had dinner with her. I just complained about everything in my life and she never came back. People get bored of me in, like, two minutes."
At first you must think that it's kind of sad that an internationally known actor would be so bored in his apartment that he'd hang out with his stalker and then drive her away. Maybe that emo vampire shit really got to him, right? WRONG! That right there is the best way to deal with a stalker.

If Jodie Foster just took John Hinckley out to a cafe and talked about her cats and told "funny" stories about how she thought she lost her shoes but they were just behind the door, The ol' gipper wouldn't have had to take a shot in the chest.

So this news got me to thinking about other films and what other "out of nowhere" endings happened.

The Knowing
Easy Rider
A Serious Man
From Dusk Till Dawn
Jason X
City of Angels
Carrie
Identity

But the winner of this "Out of fucking nowhere WTF?!?!" award goes to Dead Or Alive.
"A yakuza of Chinese descent and a Japanese cop each wage their own war against the Japanese mafia. But they are destined to meet. Their encounter will change the world."
And that's not even much of a spoiler.. because really, all you now know is that the ending comes out of fucking nowhere. Remember Me, welcome to the list of movies that make no logical sense as to why they ended the way they did.

The final cherry on top of all this is that the director was asked why he titled the film "Remember me"? his reply is that "Never Forget" would have been too obvious. Nice one. Well played there. Well played indeed. The only way you could have one upped yourself was by having the ending credit go up really fast while playing Yakkety Sax. Which, while I very rarely would do it, sort of makes me have to end this blog entry with Tribute.wmv

Fuck 9/9/09... We Got 9/11 To Worry About

Fuck 9/9/09... We Got 9/11 To Worry About

Everyone was making some serious shit about 9/9/09. What fools! What foolish fools indeed! Don't they know the real shit behind the numbering stuff that all those Mayans were too afraid to right all about?

Yeah, what better way to close out this massive amount of 9/11 blogging than by some stupid thin-foil bullshit that I hope spreads like a massive brush fire..... fuck, too soon? Anyway, when I'm not being completely serious about Jesus, I'm being completely serious about America. That's why on this 9/11, I'm doing a lot of funky things with numbers to show that elevens are fucking evil and we should carpet bomb the shit out of them till they turn to mother-fuckin' glass!

Let me drop some knowledge on you about the Eerie Elevens.

The date of the attack: 9/11 9 + 1 + 1 = 11
September 11th is the 254th day of the year: 2 + 5 + 4 = 11
After September 11th there are 111 days left to the end of the year.
119 is the area code to Iraq/Iran. 1 + 1 + 9 = 11
Twin Towers - standing side by side, looks like the number 11
The first plane to hit the towers was: Flight 11

There's More.......

State of New York - The 11th State added to the Union
New York City - 11 Letters
Afghanistan - 11 Letters
The Pentagon - 11 Letters
Ramzi Yousef - 11 Letters
Flight 11 - 92 on board - 9 + 2 = 11
Flight 77 - 65 on board - 6 + 5 = 11
A dirty towel head works at 7/11... very close to 9/11

DID.I.BLOW.YOUR.MIND?!?!?!?!

Yeah, that's what I thought. Here's hoping that I have uncovered the secret evil that truly is Eleven.. Now if you don't mind, I need to prove that I'm a good ol' God fearing Patriotic American.. hoooo-raaaaah!

*What the fuck, do you think I don't have a life or something? It may be 9/11 but it's a god damn Friday.. I got places to be, yo.

Charlie Sheen demands Obama meeting on 9/11 cover-upCharlie Sheen Demands Obama Meeting On 9/11 Cover-Up

Charlie Sheen Demands Obama Meeting On 9/11 Cover-Up

Just to show you that I'm not an entirely awful person in hating anything and everything American by my mockery of how we remember 9/11 and the downward spiral and abuse in power that spawned from the terror attacks, I do have a logical reason to stand on my reasoning.

I can at least say I'm not one of those truthers. You know, those moronic fools who believe that 9/11 was an inside job. While I can't stand behind those blind followers that believe that unless you have a red, white and blue pair of truck nuts and don't unquestionably get behind the troops then you're a terrible person. I can't also stand by those who believe that the attackes were some sort of inside job.

But those truthers that do rally around this idea, even though it can't keep a damn thing secret without it being leaked to the media do have someone to rally behind. It's their beacon of.. um.. truth, Charlie Sheen as the LA Times Reports
Normally, when an A-/B+ celebrity issues some political pronouncement at the start of a new television season or just before a movie release, people might suspect it has something to do with publicity.

A lot of rich, pretty people speak out on causes they support at times like that and the world goes, So what?

But when someone with the gravitas of a Charlie Sheen issues a statement, anyone is forced to listen.

In an exclusive contact with the PrisonPlanet.com website, Sheen reveals 1) that he voted for Barack Obama in November and 2) that he [Sheen] has become convinced that the 9/11 attacks were an inside government job perpetrated by people inside government for inside and no doubt nefarious reasons.

The idea being that Osama bin Laden and his posse were (maybe still are?) really working for the U.S. government to help justify faraway wars. (This might also explain why the U.S. government has "so far" been "unable" to capture or kill ObL.)

Sheen apparently figures that if Obama can waste all that time talking to American schoolchildren who can't even vote or pay $2,500 for a Democratic fundraiser yet, the president who garnered so many millions from Hollywood people ought to make time to talk with one of them. Or at least read their letter.

Just in case he doesn't get the Oval Office confab, Sheen has published the fictional transcript of a hypothetical 20-minute conversation with Obama in which the actor instructs the president on the ins and outs of the conspiracy and presents irrefutable evidence on "that bottomless warren of unanswered questions surrounding that day and its aftermath."

As the self-professed agent of change to believe in, Obama, Sheen reasons, should be burrowing into this obvious conspiracy to uncover the truth, unlike previous administrations.

Raising such questions about a 9/11 coverup recently cost green aide Van Jones his White House job. Or the other way around.

Oh and coincidentally, Charlie will appear today on the Alex Jones radio show to discuss his charges.
Please give this news story the great attention that it deserves and pay no mind to the fact that eight years after the tragedy, there's still nothing being built on the site of the world trade center thus showing that we're moving forward and that, in fact, terrorist can disrupt our lives by causing destructive acts like this.

I love the following quote so much that I will be quoting it a couple of times in this post
But when someone with the gravitas of a Charlie Sheen issues a statement, anyone is forced to listen.
It's great that there's some journalist in the world that can type that without laughing so hard that he bashes the keyboard keys till they don't work anymore. It's Charlie Sheen we're talking about. He's only field of expertise is getting busy. I'm sure that he has STDs scientist have yet to discover.

I love how Charlie Sheen request.. nay.. DEMANDS an audience with the President about this utmost urgent concern that needs addressing. I demand a meeting to see who the fuck actually watches Two and a Half Men that show is the worst shit I've ever seen. I watched a few episodes of it and I honestly don't know how the fuck it's made by the same people behind The Big Bang Theory, which is actually witty. I know a couple of people who can watch and enjoy it, it's basically fart jokes and oppressive mediocrity, so I don't understand the appeal. Maybe they should change the name to Two And A Half Truthers.

Coming to a CBS affiliate near you soon

I would like to say that this wont be very good for Mr. Sheen's careerhahaaha- who the fuck am I kidding, his show is on CBS, it'll never be canceled. I think the biggest defense against this idea that the government could have anything to do with the 9/11 terrorist acts (and I say that because EVERYONE in New York fails to realize that there was other sites attacked) is the idea that the American government could ever act in collaboration with people from a different non-white culture. We can't even have our politicians keep their adultery secret, how do we expect some big ass secret like this to ever be kept under wraps?
But when someone with the gravitas of a Charlie Sheen issues a statement, anyone is forced to listen.
Gravitas: Another word killed, stripped of all meaning, and left to rot in our yard. Did Webster's recently change the meaning of gravitas to mean "nice hair" or "syphilis"? We really seem to be tossing that word around a lot these days without any concern or worry that we're watering it down. Let me know if Gravitas should be used in the same context as Charlie Sheen, because to me, someone who had two chicks up in his room ready to have sex with him and his real doll, but once the two girls saw the doll started laughing at him and walked out.. That's not someone who deserves that word ever near his name in a sentence.

Even more so because after being laughed at for having a Real Doll and not getting his four way going, Sheen decapitated the doll and had his body guard take the "body" to a dumpster rolled up in a rug. I shit you not, this event actually happened. Two Men and Half a Real Doll body.
But when someone with the gravitas of a Charlie Sheen issues a statement, anyone is forced to listen.
But hey, if you want to trust you CBS 9pm guilty pleasure show actor, then perhaps you should also know the real truth to this truther.. In that his real name is Carlos Irwin Estévez. Yes, that's right.. HE'S A MEXICAN!!!!! How can we trust one of them? What? it's not like they ever checked a birth certificate for those Major League and various other Baseball movies. It's not like they check birth certificates in that sport.

If you want to read what Charlie Sheen came up with in his crazy head on a hypothetical meeting with Obama, Click this whole sentence. Here's a sample of the funniest fan-fiction you will ever read.
Charlie Sheen – Good afternoon Mr. President, thank you so much for taking time out of your demanding schedule.

President Barack Obama – My pleasure, the content of your request seemed like something I should carve out a few minutes for.

CS – I should point out that I voted for you, as your promises of hope and change, transparency and accountability, as well as putting government back into the hands of the American people, struck an emotional chord in me that I hadn’t felt in quite some time, perhaps ever.

PBO – And I appreciate that Charlie. Big fan of the show, by the way.

CS – Sir, I can’t imagine when you might find the time to actually watch my show given the measure of what you inherited.

PBO – I have it Tivo’d on Air Force One. Nice break from the traveling press corps. (He glances at his watch) not to be abrupt or to rush you, but you have 19 minutes left.

CS – I’ll take that as an invitation to cut to the chase.

PBO – I’m all ears. Or so I’ve been told.

CS - Sir, in the very near future we will be experiencing our first 9/11 anniversary with you as Commander in Chief.

PBO – Yes. A very solemn day for our Nation. A day of reflection and yet a day of historical consciousness as well.

CS – Very much so sir, very much so indeed…. Now; In researching your position regarding the events of 9/11 and the subsequent investigation that followed, am I correct to understand that you fully support and endorse the findings of the commission report otherwise known as the ‘official story’?

PBO – Do I have any reason not to? Given that most of us are presumably in touch with similar evidence.

CS – I really wish that were the case, sir. Are you aware, Mr. President, of the recent stunning revelations that sixty percent of the 9/11 commissioners have publicly stated that the government agreed not to tell the truth about 9/11 and that the Pentagon was engaged in deliberate deception about their response to the attack?

PBO – I am aware of certain “in fighting” during the course of their very thorough and tireless investigative process.

CS – Mr. President, it’s hard to label this type of friction as “in fighting” or make the irresponsible leap to “thorough,” when the evidence I insist you examine regarding 6 of the 10 members are statements of fact.

(At this point one of Obama’s senior aides approaches the President and whispers into his ear. Obama glances quickly at his watch and nods as the aide resumes his post at the doorway, directly behind me.)

PBO – No disrespect Mr. Sheen, but I have to ask; what is it that you seem to be implying with the initial direction of this discussion?
Sure makes you want to read more embarrassingly bad fan fictions written by celebrities, doesn't it? Even in Charlie Sheen's own fanfic Obama thinks he's a lunatic. And here I thought Denise Richards was the crazy one. Maybe he should act out his presidential fanfic with his dad in blackface. West-wing style.

I'm sort of half expecting Dan Aykroyd to get in on this and demand Obama meet him regarding the Roswell cover-up. Why are we even looking to celebrities to measure what our society should do. Half of them are on drugs and the other half are bat shit insane. I should know, I work with them every day. One more time.. just for the sake of hammering it home:
But when someone with the gravitas of a Charlie Sheen issues a statement, anyone is forced to listen.

9/11 - The Sound Track

9/11 - The Sound Track

No one is going to forget the things they witnessed on 9-11-01.. but just imagine, in a couple of years there will be a slew of children who grew up and were too young to remember 9/11... what then? WHAT THEN?! How could they never forget if they don't remember?!

Well, if I know one thing about kids these days, it's that they like music. So in an effort to keep the spirit of 9/11 alive, let's preserve it through the wonders of music inspired or about 9/11.

Have You Forgotten?

No 9/11 would be complete without the ladder..

I hear 9/11 is no joke.. oh wait.. what does flava say about this?

This is a strange one.. but if you didn't puke over the stupid "Have You Forgotten" video, then this one should at least be touching.. if not a little strange.

I mean, the dude is singing about losing his girlfriend.. or maybe that he wanted to be a cowboy. How should I know? Yeah, sure, I speak Spanish, doesn't mean I actually pay attention to what people say in Spanish. Well that does it. At least I didn't put up the Tribute.wmv Shows that I have some class.. right? Oh fuck it. I've already alienated friends and have been disowned by family.

It's 9/11, Did You Forget?

It's 9/11, Did You Forget?

Today is 9/11, I hope you didn't forget. It would be really awkward if you actually forgot. I know everyone keeps telling you to Nevar Forget, but sometimes stuff slips your mind, you know. Like that one time when I was at the market and I totally forgot the ice cream and only picked up the Old Rasputin beer. Only when I got home and realized I didn't get the ice cream that I realized I couldn't actually make those bitchin' beer floats that I really wanted. Fuck man. That sucked.

But seriously, you shouldn't forget this date. And really, I wonder how long it will take before people start to really be able to honestly say they forgot what day it is. Perhaps 15 years? I dunno. It's just really going to be so awkward when I'm old and can't remember much sitting in the retirement home, while the social worker is cleaning up my drool she ask me if I remember what day it is and I can't remember. I'm going to feel like such a jack ass.

Oh wait, what am I talking about, I'll be dead long before I go into a retirement home. Ha! Besides, there's not going to be any social security to cover the cost of me living. Everyone knows that Obama's death panels will kill me off. Anyhow, where was I, I forgot. Oh yeah, 9/11. Now I remember what happed on that date-

September 11, 1973 - A CIA backed coup in Chile headed by General Augusto Pinochet topples the democratically elected President Salvador Allende. Pinochet remains in power for almost 17 years. Oh wait.. not that 9/11? Hmm, let me think. Oh yeah. 9/11... It's the day Sorority Row gets released. This is going tobe worst 9/11 EVER!

Can't forget 9/11/85: Pete Rose breaks Ty Cobb's base hit record.

How dare I not take this as serious as Gleen Beck or Bill O'Reily suggest you take it. This literally is the greatest, most traumatizing tragedy face by people ever in history. Especially those people in the states hundreds or thousands of miles away from ground zero.

The holocaust, Darfur, Rewanda, Nanking, Trail of tears? All these and more are as insignificant as a peanut compared to how America lost its innocence on 9/11. Republic of Cong? Apartheid? What about those? NOTHING! Not a god damn thing next to NINE ELEVEN!

Shock and Awe: 6,000 casualties.
9/11: 3,000 casualties.
Winner: 9/11

I'm never forgetting so hard that every day is 9/11. Sign me up for the armed services, yo. Cause I wanna say "Let's roll" and be a true American. You didn't join the armed services the moment the towers fell? What the fuck kind of pussy are you? Don't worry, it's all good, homie. We can chill and roast 9/11 marshmallows some time.

I'm going to recognize 9/11 by leaving the TV on, so I can soak in all the various non-stop montages of footage of the towers falling and people crying and where-are-they-now interviews where MSNBC asks people whose family/friends died to try their very hardest to remember how they were feeling on the day because that kind of devotion to remembering that a terrorist attack happened is exactly why terrorist attack things in the first place.

I don't know about you, but it's barely 9am and I'm already tired of the news asking us the same question year after year. "WHAT HAVE WE LEARNED ON THIS HISTORIC DAY, ONLY 8 YEARS AFTER TERRORISTS FLEW PLANES INTO THE WORLD TRADE CENTER, IN THIS POST 9/11 WORLD!!"

Seriously, the question is old and boring. What did I learn? America is a pretty fucked up country and we'll gladly piss on another nation with the defense that "The End Justifies The Means". And I guarantee you that by mid-day, conservatives will be up in arms that Obama isn't being reverent enough. Even if he spends the entirety of the 24 hours in silent prayer contemplating the lives lost, they'll claim that since he was praying to Allah it didn't count.

Is it not weird that people remember the exact date of the WTC attacks but not any other historical event? It's only been 8 years, but can we just get this to be a national holiday already? Yeah, it's a little bit too close to Labor day, but this way we could just have back to back three day weekends. I mean, it's only fitting to have the end of summer be at the same time that we had the end of our freedom.

Oh no! That is horribly insensitive of me, isn't it? What about the families of the people who died, huh? HUH!? I must say that I feel terribly sorry for anyone who lost anyone they cared about on 9/11. I wont lie about that. It was really a tragic day in the history of our nation. There's no mistaking that. I'll be honest with you, I mock the way we handle 9/11 as a reaction to how the far right used the tragedy of the day to push their agenda.

If you're disgusted by the pictures I post in this blog and aren't disgusted by the way that the Bush administration used the "loss of our Innocence" as a nation to send us to war with a country that didn't have anything to do with the terror attack, then well, I can't help you. If you can say you're ok with the rights an excess of power that we gave up, all in the name of safety, but are angered by the use of a silly photoshop image here? Well then what the hell is wrong with you?

Are we better off today than we were before 9/11? That's the question asked by the media all the time. What is life like in this Post-9/11 world? Well, we're losing soldiers in a war that was not needed. So far here's the count.

9/11 casualties: 2,974
Iraq War causalities: 1,339,711

Seems like a lot of energy and life wasted on a place that didn't send men to our country, get them enrolled in our flght schools and then carried out acts of terrorism... and did it successfully. Wouldn't the best way to deal with the act of terrorism to not let tme be successful be not letting their acts be disruptive to your daily life?

Not letting their actions change the laws allowing less freedom and more government control/hand in your business. Not tarnishing your ability to get on a plane. Hell, I was put on a terrorist watch list simply because my name is Javier. Way to not look at race, creed or sex in your equality cause. Yup. Had to go through the extra long security because my name sounded non-white.

All in the name of keeping us safe did we sacrifice just about everything that we were built on as a nation. And what was the first thing that our glorious leader at the time said that we should do after the attacks? Go shopping. Yes, because I want to go get a new Ikea sofa at a time like this. How about some duct tape.. You know, that magical security device that will keep me safe from a terror attack of the gas type. Might as well get under a desk during a nuclear war.

How about all the songs we couldn't hear after 9/11? It seems that the first American right that we saw go was the ability to hear music on the radio. Did you forget about that? Awwww, awwwkward. Here's a list of all the songs that were deemed inappropriate for air play on 9/12 and for a while after. HUGE ASS LIST CLICK HERE!

Again, the list is huge and just goes to show you how much of a pussy nation we are if some of these songs offend our sensibilities enough that we had to have clear channel ban them from being played.

Van Halen - Jump
Simon & Garfunkel - Bridge over troubled water
Santana - Evil Ways
R.E.M. - It's the end of the world as we know it
RHCP - Aeroplane, Under the bridge
Queen- Another one bites the dust
Queen- killer queen
ALL RAGE AGAINST THE MACHINE SONGS. Pink Floyd - Mother. NIN - Head like a hole. Nena - 99 Luftballons.
Frank Sinatra - New York, New York

What.The.Fuck. How can you not allow New York, New York to be played? I know we were just attacked at the time, but to deny New Yorkers the ability to hear Frank Sinatra should be a war crime in itself. But the one that sticks out the most. The one that I can tell that the terrorist really won is that Clear Channel had this song remove from air play during those tough times

Louis Armstrong "What a Wonderful World"

You have got to kidding me about that. If there was a song that ever should be played during the tough times when people are still looking for missing loved ones, when our nation is looking around to see who exactly attacked us and find answers, it's that one.

I don't hate America. I didn't approve of the attacks. What I do hate is the way we handled this whole situation. The way that we just otherwise jumped to the conclusion that everything we are doing is actually the correct course of action. This stubborn idea just causes me to be confused on if there's any sort of logic or reason going on behind our actions.

Look at the news piece of this very morning
WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The U.S. Coast Guard tried Friday to prevent a boat from entering a security zone on the Potomac River not far from the Pentagon, where President Obama was at an event commemorating the September 11 attacks.

There were reports on police scanners that the Coast Guard fired 10 rounds of ammunition, but those reports could not immediately be confirmed. It was not immediately clear from the reports whether they referred to warning shots.
It ended up being some sort of training exercise. Now tell me this, who the hell would schedule a training exercise with live fire on the morning of 9/11 near the area of a place that was attacked and would have a lot of media coverage? I know this whole blog post has been about not stopping the world because of 9/11, but still, you don't need to recreate the entire scenario picture for picture in order to get an idea on how to combat it.

Remember how much shit was caused when they flew that Obama plane pretty close to the skyline of New York for pictures? Ha. That caused a lot of uproar. Not the same uproar that the Moonanites caused Boston, but still, similar to that style of chaos.

If one did want to look at the glass half full, they could easily look at the fact that today is the best day of the year to go into a tall building or fly on an airplane. For the most part, any building is going to be pretty empty. They feel like lightning strikes in the same place twice for odd reasons. And let me tell you, airplane tickets are rock bottom cheap cheap cheap! So there's those silver linings to all this mass hysteria behind this day.

When it all comes down to it, that's the only reason why I try to find humor in this. Because if I didn't laugh, I don't think I could face how far we have fallen as a nation and as human beings. How much of a drastic turn we took in how we act towards others and our place in the world. Literally, our place as a super power really did change and I believe that we abused the hell out of that power crying fowl over being attacked and we spat venom at just about any and everyone that was in our way.

The worse part is I can't keep straight the fucking justification for going to war after 9/11. At first it was because we were attacked and assumed it was Saddam. I can still remember Rush Limbaugh jumping on the radio on 9/11 blaming Saddam Hussein. The whole reason why the Americans still buy into that bullshit about Iraq having anything to do with it, is because of the spin factor that was presented. The tons and tons of misinformation.

Its a good thing twitter didn't exist in 2001. I wouldn't want to see the updates involved with that. I would assume it would otherwise destroy the internet altogether. I'm also sure it would still not be making any money even if it was created eight years ago. I suppose the final point I will try to make will be made by someone else. Someone with more gravitas..

David Cross said the following:
I don't think Osama bin Laden sent those planes to attack us because he hated our freedom. I think he did it because of our support for Israel, our ties with the Saudi family and our military bases in Saudi Arabia. You know why I think that? Because that's what he fucking said! Are we a nation of 6-year-olds? Answer: yes.
God damn, that Analrapist made a lot of sense. I suppose I can't even say "Happy 9/11 day" because we all know that we must all act brooding and sad on this day of eternal sadness. So.. have a day to remember the attacks that put us here in this position eight years later. But don't linger on it too long as that's the point of terrorism, to disrupt your daily life.
