Video Games Kills Kid

Video Games Kills Kid

I mean it. I'm not even trying to be all mid 90's conservative parents either. A video game literally caused the death of a small child in South Korea. Pretty fucking amazing, right? I bet you're wondering how the fuck that happened.. Well, I'll fuckin' tell you how!
Internet addicts guilty of starving baby to death

By SANGWON YOON (AP) –

SEOUL, South Korea — A South Korean couple were convicted Friday of abandoning their newborn daughter, who starved to death while they addictively played an online game raising a virtual child.

The husband, a 41-year-old taxi driver, and his 25-year-old wife were sentenced to two years in prison, but the woman's term was suspended because she is pregnant.

The couple played at Internet cafes on average 10 hours every day and bottle-fed their baby only once a day, prosecutors said in an affidavit.

The girl, who was born prematurely and weighed 5 pounds (2.25 kilograms), was often fed rotten formula and was beaten when she cried out of hunger, the affidavit said.

They found her dead when they returned to their home in Suwon, just south of Seoul, after an all-night gaming session last September, the ruling said. They hid at a relative's home after a autopsy found the baby died of malnutrition.
It's clear I have to point this out again because.. what the fuck...
A South Korean couple who were addicted to the internet let their three-month-old baby starve to death while raising a virtual daughter online, police said.

The game enables players to interact with Anima and as they do so, help her to recover her lost memory and develop emotions.
South Koreans can't really be this serious about their Bideogames, right? I just have to know, what the fuck game were they playing? Because I can't guess from the description they posted. Here I thought I was pretty good with video games, or at least keeping in the loop but I have no clue what the fuck they are talking about in the story.

Why is it that all these people who let their kids die from neglect are playing games I have never fucking heard of? It makes me wonder if I'm really missing out. It's like hearing that some junkie died from a really really good hit of cocaine or something. You start to wonder if you're missing out on the grand scheme of things. So what does this thing look like?

You have to wonder how committed these people really were to the video game. They obviously took time away from playing video games because somehow the woman got pregnant again. Don't they know about birth control? Condoms, Motherfucker!!!

It also makes me wonder if anyone has ever done anything criminally neglectful because they were too busy writing stupid blogs daily or looking at porn on the internet. I just really have to wonder about these things. I guess I have seen a lot of stories like this, including people dying of exhaustion from days of playing. Man, I can't wait till South Koreans all die at the iron fisted hand of glorious Kim Jong il. Only then will I totally own at Starcraft.

We have to take a moment and think about the situation that South Korea is in. Just imagine America during the Cuban missile crisis or all throughout the cold war against Russia. Is South Korea today anything like we were as people, constantly waiting for the second that the other shoes drops and a bomb hits us. Just think about their war with North Korea. That shit has to be scary. Nothing some helpful headbanging couldn't fix...

I really wonder if the mentality of "YOU WILL DIE AT ANY SECOND BECAUSE NUCLEAR BOMBS!!!" from ol' Kim Jong il, that MMOS are the Korean versions of cocaine and synthesizers as a means to deal with the stress. I get the concept.
Koreans : Internet :: Native Americans : Alcohol
What the fuck is up with South Koreans using all these internet cafes instead of owning their own PC? I can understand why there might be lots of Chinese who need to do this, but in South Korea? Come on.

The lesson to be learned here is that Video Games are a great way to have fun, and enjoy things that are available to you in life. Not only this, but the making of a game is an art form - by playng through, say, an RPG, you are treated to a grand story that is just overwhelmingly more fulfilling than going out, fucking some chick, high fiving yourself and calling it a night.

Maybe this has nothing to do with video games. Maybe this is just how South Koreans are. They're just like this sometimes and there's nothing we can do about it or change the status quo. Look at me right now, I can totally relate. I'm really hungry right now but I'm way too busy writing a blog post for a daily blog hardly anyone reads to go make some dinner.

Maybe we're making a big deal out of this. Abortion kills way more babies than Korean video games, right? Maybe we should ban abortions instead... or maybe we should ban abortion and video games together.

Though perhaps we're taking away too many rights. Maybe we should go the other way. Just think, Mothers SHOULD be able to kill their babies at any time in the first year. They're allowed to kill it within the first two trimesters anyway, so they should apply that to post-birth as well. Meaning that they could kill their young within the first 2/3rds of their life... or 48 years. Sounds about right to me.

And if that's too much to ask for, perhaps we should just settle on my classic view that up until the baby/child can pass the mirror test, it's no different than killing a cow or a pig in terms of death of something that isn't self aware. Typically that self-awareness happens within the first 18 months... so you mothers better hurry up and decide if you actually want to keep the baby or if you just want to play some online video game.

Singing In The Bathtub

Singing In The Bathtub

Since last week's pre-dexter post was about some random porn, maybe I should get on to something more related to the show.... The Trinity Killer himself, John Lithgow! I'm not sure how exactly he got the role, but it seems that he's actually pretty perfect for the role. Looking at John Lithgow's wikipedia page (source of all things sacred) here's two interesting facts.

1.) His middle name is Arthur!
2.) He made a children's album in 1999 called "Singin' in the Bathtub."

Yes, that's right. The Trinity killer, a serial Killer who starts off his cycle with a death in the bathtub has a CD called "Singing in the Bathtub". Here's the song in the context of Dexter.

Now if that isn't strange, I don't know what is. I mean, that really is disturbing.. disturbingly funny as all hell! Ha. Now that's something else entirely. I have to say, that song is a lot better and a lot more enjoyable than it would be to listen to John Lithgow say "Shut up Cunt" for ten minutes straight...

Yeah.. I dunno how far into it you got, but after about 5 minutes it really starts sounding like something else entirely.

This whole season comes to an end tonight and well, I have to say that it has been one of the best seasons since the first one. While it's sad to see another season come to a close, especially when a lot of it has been spent on nagging Rita house wife and man of the house sort of neutered Dexter. Still, as a whole, it has been really good and the relationship between Dexter and Arthur has been amazing and a great way to look at himself. Great story telling... so let's just see how he finally kills the trinity killer.

When I kill Myself And Others Please Make Sure My PS3 Is Taken Care Of

When I kill Myself And Others Please Make Sure My PS3 Is Taken Care Of

Well this was an interesting story that I couldn't let slip through the cracks...

PORTLAND, Ore. - Police said suspected gunman Erik Salvador Ayala was reportedly depressed and unemployed when he left a note for his roommate that insinuated suicide, drove to downtown Portland and opened fire on a random crowd Saturday night, killing two people and injuring seven before turning the gun on himself.

Police released those new details Monday afternoon during a news conference on the shooting spree investigation. But they still don't know why the nine people were gunned down in what police said was a random shooting that lasted but a few seconds. They also don't know how Ayala obtained a 9mm semi-automatic handgun used in the shooting spree.

Meanwhile, Ayala remained in critical condition Monday at Legacy Emanuel Hospital. Police said he shot himself in the head following Saturday night's shooting rampage outside the underage nightclub called The Zone on Southwest 2nd Avenue.

Eight of the nine victims were teenagers, many of them foreign exchange students. Investigators don't believe they were targeted but simply just in the wrong place at the wrong time.

Following the shooting, investigators executed a search warrant at Ayala's Milwaukie home on Sunday afternoon and found a case for the 9mm handgun as well as ammunition, numerous video games and a note Ayala had left for his roommate.

In the note, Ayala said he was giving all his possessions to his roommate, Mike Delisle, including his video game system and car, which Ayala wrote could be found "somewhere downtown, but I'm not sure where. I'm sure you'll get a letter about it soon."

Police said the note "insinuated possible thoughts of suicide."

Investigators believe Ayala drove his vehicle to the area of Southwest 4th Avenue and Southwest Main Street before walking to the nightclub and opening fire about 10:30 p.m. Police found the car and cordoned it off after the shooting.

Delisle told KATU he found the note hours after Ayala had left it. Delisle said he initially went looking for Ayala but then stayed home, hoping his roommate would return.

Delisle, a college student, then went to work. Sometime later, police found him there and told him what happened.

"I was sick to my stomach and shaking," Delisle said. "I wasn't even aware that he had a gun - or let alone that he could even afford it."

Delisle said his roommate was unemployed and seemed depressed but otherwise had not shown any signs of violence.

"Everyone that knows him is really shocked," Delisle said.

Much of Ayala's recent life is a mystery. He attended McNary High School, where he was in the band, and he worked for a temp agency. Delisle said his roommate liked to play video games and was quiet and "kind of a loner."

Anyone who had contact with Ayala in the days before the shooting or anyone with additional information was asked to call Portland Police Detective Ken Whattam (503) 823-0696 or Detective Mark Slater (503) 823-9319. Anyone with information concerning when and where Ayala obtained the handgun used in the shooting should also call the above detectives.

The following is the contents of the note police said they recovered in the suspect's home:

To my friends and family:
I am sorry.

And to my friend, (redacted)

I am especially sorry. I know it's not much consolation but as my friend and roommate you are entitled to everything that I own. Maybe these things can bring in a few bucks.

Good luck in this (expletive) world.

Erik

If you need my personal information for any reason, here it is:

My ssn: (redacted)
My bank account number: (redacted)
My alien number: (redacted)
My ODL: 974739
My birthdate: 03-10-84

The check I wrote you should be most of the money in my account. I gave you an affidavit in case you want to check what's left but it's probably less than $20.

Qwest account login: (redacted)

(redacted)
(redacted)

My car is up to date with maintenance. It just leaks a little oil. You can probably get at least 2.5 grand for it. It'll be somewhere downtown but I'm not sure where. I'm sure you'll get a letter about it soon.

You know my ps3 is special. Similar USED ps3's go for AT LEAST $450-$500. Our landlord guy wants a ps3 like mine. Let him know that $400 would be a GOOD deal. If he doesn't want it, format the drive by going to Settings>System>Format Utility. You can say it "comes with the latest firmware software" to help market it on the internet. In case you don't know, it's the special "100% backwards compatible" (60 GB) ps3.

I'm sorry to put all this on you buddy, good luck.
The story is out of the way now and I'm left confused. I'm fascinated how someone can do something so heinous but be in the sort of frame of mind to make sure his room mate is taken care of and his beloved "special" PS3 fetches the most money and that someone takes care of his phone bill.

I mean, it seems reasonable to me, killzone 2 is coming out soon and there's always Little Big Planet and Street Fighter IV to be concerned about. So why go on a killing spree? You could just write this off as a guy just dissatisfied with life, but it completely doesn't make sense that he decided to shoot up a few people as well as himself. Really, it's confusing, and doesn't fit the tone of the letter or anything.

I think we are going to see more of this unfortunately as time goes on, with the way things are today, things only look worse for PS3 owners. Those of you wondering what drove this guy to shoot strangers though?

I'm guessing he drove himself. The car is parked somewhere and there's sure to be a letter about it. I'm curious if his roommate would have preferred a 360, but ya know, whatever.

The Kids Aren't Alright

The Kids Aren't Alright

As Hank Hill would say it, That boy ain't right. Only he should have meant boys. Kids these days are far from alright. First off we have an 8 year old shoots and kills his father and another man. Very strange.

ST. JOHNS, Ariz. (AP) - Police in this small eastern Arizona community are looking into the possibility that an 8-year-old boy who is charged with killing his father and another man with a rifle had been abused, the police chief said Saturday.

"I'm not accusing anybody of anything at this point," he said Saturday. "But we're certainly going to look at the abuse part of this. He's 8 years old. He just doesn't decide one day that he's going to shoot his father and shoot his father's friend for no reason. Something led up to this."

On Friday, a judge determined there was probable cause to show that the boy fatally shot his father, Vincent Romero, 29, and Timothy Romans, 39, of San Carlos, with a .22-caliber rifle. Under Arizona law, charges can be filed against anyone 8 or older. The judge ordered a psychological evaluation of the boy.

Melnick said police are pushing to have the boy tried as an adult, but he acknowledged it's unlikely a judge would grant that motion.

"This is a severe double homicide, premeditated, and that's the right thing to do," he said. "We're going to use every avenue of the law that's available to us, but we're also looking at the human side."
Now you may need a moment here to soak that all in. Come back when you're ready. First there's many people that are just screaming to give the little niglet the chair or the gun crazed that shout out that if the parents had more guns this never would have happened because then they'd have guns to shoot the kid who took their guns. Lastly there's the Big Lebowski who would have simply said 8 year olds dude. I guess the whole matter now is if we do give an 8 year old the death row sentence we'd be trying to out-do Iran with the fucked up conservatism stance.

An 8 year old on death row would be an awesome new low in the "Lets try and out-do Iran with the fucked up conservativsm" stakes.

Who's excited for the Law and Order SVU episode ripped from the headlines?

Then this one is a little off. This dumb ass died after running away when he couldn't play video games...

TORONTO — Investigators believe it's likely Ontario teen Brandon Crisp died after falling from a tree in the rural area northeast of Barrie, Ont., but they're not sure yet how long he survived in the outdoors before perishing.

Autopsy results on the body of the teen, found just over three weeks after he ran away from home, reveal he died of injuries to the chest.
I would have felt worse if he was kidnapped or hit by a car, but this was honestly just a dumb kid. So he's not allowed to play Call of Duty on Xbox and thus he ran away from home in an act of aggression to show them. Because nothing says "I deserve to play video games" like running far away from said video game. Then to end up climbing a tree for who knows what reason and ends up dead. Stupid Stupid Stupid.

I say stupid because this who situation went from a kid turning up missing and even having Microsoft chip in 25k as a reward to finding him and then turned into a case where the kid was just a dumb ass and ran away from home, failed to climb a tree and died a painful death.

I know fall damage in Call of Duty 4 is much more forgiving. I'm sure little Brandon is calling people faggots in heaven now. Then again, I really hope there isn't an afterlife because if there is this kid has to live (...dead?) with being the world's biggest joke for all of eternity. Being a teenager, running away because he can't play xbox, and dying from falling out of a tree?

If he had spend more time outside instead of sitting in front of the TV he would have known how to climb a tree better I guess. I know there wont be any gg respawn in 2 min gogogogoogo in this kids lack of future

Then we finally have this little tyke.

Here is why I'm asking grown-ups to vote for Barack Obama. I am 7 years old so I can't vote......

My mom told me that I shouldn't base my election analysis on "feelings" (I like him/her) or "beliefs" (I share his/her beliefs) but on logical arguments. She asked me to create my own rational explanations for my support of Obama. Here is one of my arguments:

McCain and Palin are not be qualified to be President / Vice President of the U.S. The President's job is to do good for the country and the world. To do good for the country, the President must make smart decisions on important situations.

Governor Palin believes the world is 6000 years old. This is absurd. This is not a rational belief. This is a mistake. Scientists, experiments and evidence have shown this to be completely false. Therefore, she is not rational. If she is not rational, she should not be allowed to be President or Vice President.

Please vote for Barack Obama.

Why?! I understand the concern but when I was 7 I wasn't concerned about the president. I was more worried if Donatello and Ralphie would make up in time before Shredder planned another evil plot. Let the children go and be children. Yeah, we're fucking it up and getting them into major debt that their generation and the following generation after them wont be able to pay. But it shouldn't cause them to get gray hairs already. Let them live an existence of just enjoying the fun carefree days without the concern on who is president.

Shit, that stuff is inane even for me and I actually like to follow politics for the simple subject of mocking it. Let the children play. They don't need to worry about getting abused and having to kill their father and face a death sentence. Nor should they be dumb enough to run away because they can't play Xbox longer than they want to. Most of all, don't introduce them to politics yet. You're just pandering at that point.

Wont anyone think of the children?
