Al Gore and his wife of 40 years, Tipper, are separating.

The couple wrote an email that found its way to Politico, saying, "We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate."

The email continues, "This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration."

The couple has 4 kids.

Roughly one year ago today -- the couple's daughter Kristin Gore filed for divorce from her husband Paul Cusack.
and the politico article mentioned above:
Al and Tipper Gore, whose playful romance enlivened Washington and the campaign trail for a quarter century, have decided to separate after 40 years of marriage, the couple told friends Tuesday.

In an “Email from Al and Tipper Gore,” the couple said: “We are announcing today that after a great deal of thought and discussion, we have decided to separate.

“This is very much a mutual and mutually supportive decision that we have made together following a process of long and careful consideration. We ask for respect for our privacy and that of our family, and we do not intend to comment further.”

The e-mail was obtained by POLITICO and confirmed by Kalee Kreider of the office of Al and Tipper Gore. Kreider said there would be no further comment.

Tipper Gore is a professional photographer who in 1996 published “Picture This, A Visual Diary,” which she called “a personal photographic representation of life as wife of the vice president.”

She often took pictures at campaign events and behind the scenes when her husband ran for president in 2000. In recent years, she often accompanied him on speaking and book-signing engagements as he continued his quest for action on "the climate crisis."

During Bill Clinton's presidency, the then-vice president and his wife donned costumes for an annual Halloween party that became a Washington tradition.

The Gores, who have four children and live in Tennessee, marked their 40th wedding anniversary two weeks ago.

The Gores both grew up in the Washington area. They met at a high-school graduation dance and were married at the National Cathedral on May 19, 1970, according to Tipper Gore’s White House biography.

Ah yes. Another pointless celebrity bullshit news piece that will succeed in distracting Americans from real news stories. The oilcam was pretty boring after all and we can't watch Israel shoot civilians live anymore, so I guess it was only a matter of time before we got one of these shocker CNN headline news fluff pieces.

I say fuck that, what's Lady GaGa doing? This is just more proof that elitist liberals don't hold our average American family values! Surely I need to vote Republican next election cycle or my good ol' American family values will be tossed out the window.

I find it funny that in the news story he treats the Climate Crisis as if it's some soft drink or something that he's plugging on the talk show circuit. How dare he try to convince us things are heating up on the global scale when it's clear it's not even true of his own love life. Bazinga!

The divorce is probably because he's fat as fuck now. Just look at how he ballooned up after he won the election that was stolen from him. Imagine having to go down on a dude and his belly is, like, pressed up against your forehead. I'm also sure his high horse on global warming did it in. Women like guys that have hobbies, not obsessions. Sorry Al.

I think he'll be okay though. Somehow he'll be able to find a nice girl that shares his concern for dolphins and the environment out of all the college-age environmental activist in the entire world. The dude was probably banging half of green peace anyway. Tipper was totally holding him back. If I could, I would totally take him out for a drink and give him a pep talk.

The real question now is who's going to get the internet in the divorce? I mean, I sure hope that my bittorrent sites are located on Al's half of the internet.
